Im wanting to lift my 08 Tacoma Sport, but am looking for something that wont make me broke. but something that isn't poorly made. I've heard mostly bad things about strut spacers.

Strut spacers are mostly for fitting larger tires for looks and limited off roading. There's nothing wrong with them as far as durability goes except for the bottom of the strut straining more than usual.

I know lots of truck owners who are happy with strut spacers, and lots of people that switch to full coil over setups.

With a 2008 I'd be swapping out new coil overs simply because the stock struts and springs already have wear and its best to have a fresh setup.

Do strut spacers make the suspension stiffer?

Bilstein 5100s for 1-1.75 of lift. Add springs with 5100s for more lift.

You could get a full suspension for around that price. (Coils, shocks and AAL)

I have this kit and I'm very happy with it, as are many others on this forum. No diff drop needed. 884 885 and 887 will give approximately 2" 2.5" and 3" respectively for a double cab 4 liter taco. The UCAs are recommended for 2.5" and above for proper alignment. I personally have the 887s with no UCAs and I love it. Headstrong is excellent to do business with as they have very good prices and excellent customer service.

Tires are 285/75/16 and required a small amount of trimming in order to avoid rubbing on the fender and splash guard. Initially I had 3" of lift up front and the truck was totally level, it settled after a few weeks and it's about 2.75" now for a slight rake. I love the stance and the ride. Haven't heard a single bad thing about that kit or headstrong off-road.

looks nice bro! Was the suspension stiffer after installing the kit? I want to lift my truck, but not at the expense of a stiff ride

Not on any of the 4 vehicles I've used them on, but I never went above 2".

All of them were above the assembly, not the preload type(like the 5100 does).

Yeah it's a bit stiffer but it's really not bad. I would say a better way to describe it is "firm" but when it was installed I changed tires which probably had a pretty significant effect as well. It doesn't rock you around like crazy but it is noticeably firmer.

Like most others, I was also worried about the ride quality before I got the lift because after my buddy lifted his jeep it rode like shit. I really like the way my truck drives now, maybe it's not quite as smooth as stock but I love love love the look so I dgaf.

Did you do the diff drop? I've heard mixed things about it for the 2nd gen.
