2016 tacomas with the 5" oval side steps question

does anyone know if toyota is using the ones from the previous years for the new 2016 trucks or are the 2016 trucks that come with these steps have specific ones made for 2016.

What I'm trying to say is, if I buy some from an older Tacoma is it the same ones that would be coming on the 2016 Tacoma?

 

2016 chrome side steps can be different by distributor region. Example, the Gulf States region chrome steps are chrome from tip to tip while the Southeast distributor's chrome steps have a 4" long black plastic cover at both ends of the chrome steps.

 

That still doesnt answer my question haha. What i was wondering if the 2016 oval steps are a new design or is it a carry over from the previous years.

 

Gulf States oval steps are different on gen2 vs. gen3. Some chrome oval steps from the distributor on gen2's do not have the front and rear "bent in" tips that are found on chrome oem steps for the 2016 model.

 

Are you asking about 'same' or asking about 'fit'?

As in will steps from a gen 2 fit a gen 3? (even if the style is little different)

 

I am asking if the style is the SAME. or did toyota make it a little different for the 2016.

I know they all fit and are interchangeable between the years but i wanted to know if there was one made specifically for 2016.

 

Ill sell you mine off of my 16 tacoma.
