Yeah I fear the same. I might check out Mt Airy and even North Bel Air.

Downtown Frederick has a great bar scene but public transport sucks unless you live in city limits and if you live in city no clay shooting

I like Frederick but the commute would be harder than PA (I work in Towson, 30min to PA border).

Lol that's not true... You can flush the toilet with buckets of water, OR you can always just poop outside. Yea winter pooping outside sucks but that's why you have buckets of rain water.

Besides how often does the power really go out? And more importantly how long does it stay out for. We might be on a pretty stable power supply at my house cause its rare that it goes out and maybe we have some big shot in our area because its usually restored within a few hours.

Well, the ideal country home needs:

Propane generator that can run on multiple kinds of fuel

    &

    Solar power.

Outside wood or wood/pellet stove is also a must. Fed to every building, that way you can focus on the main building, and modulate it to the others when they're not occupied. Plus you can set it and forget it if need be

I could also see using one of those multi fluid fed furnaces for a garage, one that cleanly burns automotive oils/fluids.

I disagree. I lived in Seven Valleys, PA and commuted to South Baltimore for a year. PA's roads were always clear and did a better job over MD.

Agreed. 695 west side is always turrible, 695 east side and you pay tolls.
