New England B.S. Thread

Question for you Boston area peeps, or anyone that knows the area. Sometime this month, probably around the 19th and/or the 20th, I have to go up there for the day, for work. I work for a company that has a showroom in the Boston Design Center.

Going to be driving up in my Taco from CT, since I enjoy driving, plus the company will reimburse me for miles.

Anything I should be aware of as far as parking or anything else like that while I'm up there?!

 

is your truck lifted? just make sure you can fit in the garages

 

Nope, not lifted. Just regular stock height as far as that. It has the OEM roof rack, to add to the height, but that's it.

 

You'll be fine. I'm lifted with 285's and a roof rack and the lowest parking garages I have been to I hit my antenna's but my truck still fits

 

Perfect! I have a short antenna anyway, so I'm good to go!

 

The 12 year old in me wants to laugh at this so badly...

Like Rebecca said, watch the clearances on some of the old garages. Some of them are pretty tight. Traffic sucks, I'd strongly suggest downloading the Waze app and time your commute wisely.

I dunno, some of the old town parking garages are really low. Anything new or renovated is fine but the old ones still have clearances listed as low as 6'6".

The 32 year old me already did laugh at that!

good call. however long you think it's going to take you, i'd give yourself an extra 1-1.5 hours

Yeah you could be right. The one I was thinking about (lowest one I have been in) was in the theater district near some fancy hotel but it wasn't that old

 

Seriously, download the Waze app, it's awesome! It's a free app, it takes you some weird routes that you'd never think would be traffic free but it's brought my stress level way down on my commute and made my commute times much more predictable.

also bring some spare fuel, a shock blanket, police scanner, rations, and a flare gun. anything you think could go wrong probably will haha

Only one I have been in is Harbor Garage and it was 6'6" as I recall.....Luckily we were in then CRV and not the FJ

 

While I'm up there, going to try and meet up with a TW member to do a clock unit for non clock unit swap!

 

Just make sure it's not an 'assault flare gun' or the liberals will have you arrested and publicly flogged.

 

Definitely don't want that!
