Anyone down for a snow run not this weekend but like the 16th? I'm down for anywhere.

Sweet! Let's go for it! No experience in this truck in heavy snow but I have driven in my 88 a bunch.

 

What kind of tires do you have?

 

Cooper at3 less than 3k miles
285 75 16 they are 10 ply but have decent squat with low pressure.

 

Yeah you'll be fine. One of the guys I went with last weekend had 35" MTR's and went as low as his ARB deflator would go, 2 or 3psi and never broke a bead... You should be fine down to 10 at least.

 

That's my plan. I just don't have oba yet so I might need a reinflate once off the trail!

 

I got you! OBA is one of the more under rated mod IMO

 

Absolutely a buddy back in nor cal had oba and it was literally the coolest shit ever.

 

If you're unable to modify things to get it working with your setup I'd be interested in it. Let me know.

I want to go. I just ordered a digital tire gauge that goes below 5psi by .1 increments. From a snow wheeling site I just studied it says "if you're not willing to go down below 10psi then you should just stay home" and "I usually start at 5psi and go down from there if needed"

I also ended up with an extra hook. I didn't check the box of rope, and when I opened it, it already comes with a hook! If no one wants it, back to mule it goes.

Got 2" of snow overnight at my house. Snow wheeling for me means going to the barn with my truck. About 18" on the ground here.

To those of you going snow wheeling, somebody bring a bottle of charcoal lighter fluid, the stuff for lighting charcoal briquettes for a barbeque, and a lighter. If anybody loses a bead, pull the wheel off and away from the truck, spray some inside the tire and create a small trail so you don't have to reach between the rim and tire, then light it. Now add air again as needed

 

Seen that. It scares the shit outta me.

 

I'd love to go but work that weekend. I'd do Leavenworth too but just did a bunch of boarding and spending in Colorado over Christmas. Gonna have to wait lol
