When talking about bump spacing, it's best to measure the entire bump from its mounting base down to the point where it first contacts. I believe the wntire bump measures 4" total. With washers the most you should be able to run while being able to mount a nut on it through the frame plate is 4.5" total top to bottom. I can go out there and measure if you want, but if you are getting fox shocks and want to run these, they will take the brunt of the bump well before you bottom out.

If you ever do bottom out hard, just know the fox shocks have an integrated bump stop on their shaft as well, placed there as a failsafe.

 

I'm running the extended icons 15.9 collapsed 26.8 ext...Mainly just doing slow crawling and maybe some fast washboard, but nothing too extreme.. I just want to keep from bottoming out these new shocks.. Thanks for your input greatly appreciated

 

Oh man, you are running 11" shocks? What size lift leaf springs over stock are you running for those? That's close to an inch over the 10" stroke shocks that I run.

Jake said its fine we're all learning something.. What did you have in mind I was going to just stack more washer for a total bump height of 5".. From my measurements I need 3"collapsed bump

3" collapsed measured from the frame? Did you use my math solution for that or did you use the suspension to cycle your suspension to determine that?

The only way you would be able to space out those silverado bumps to 5" would be to use some sort of alternative mounting plate at the top. 4.5-4.75" is the max they can go before you dont have any stud left to go through the upper frame plate.

 

Yes I used your math solution and I popped the studs out and was going with an Allen head bolts little longer so I could stack more washers..

 

Oh nice! That is smart thinking there! 3" collapsed. If you need more washers just stack as needed and you'll be good to go for an overall bump height of 5".

Yes sir you are. The biggest obstacle for me I never overcame (primarily because I never attempted to pop the stud's out) was obtaining 5" or however much I needed at the time to get the full collapsed length I needed. I remedied it by going full hydro bumps and the rest was history.

Unless you plan on hardcore wheeling, the Silverado bumps will be overkill for our trucks and feel like pillows on harder suspension hits. You are set to go bud!
