Your truck is a 2013 and should not have had that problem, that is if the factory put the updated part in.

There was a shit part in the 2nd gen Tacomas (2005-2010), which was an intermediate steering shaft. That part was updated with TSB-0119-10, I have the updated part in my truck and it definitely fixed my problem (I have a 2009).

    Thanks for elaborating.

    ROFL!!!

Hmmm. The placebo effect is real and I'll stop obsessing over it.

My 12 was properly configured as well. We should be looking more at the steering rack bushings which allow the rack to move laterally 1/4 when you turn the wheel rather than the shaft at this point instead.

Well if it is hurting the mechanics ability to align it, it may be mildly "broke." Just saying. :D

my steering wheel has always had a very slight (knock?) when going over particularly bumpy surfaces, I also attributed it to that play in the shaft that people correct with a zip tie. then one day it got REALLY bad, so I took it to the dealer. there is a retaining snap ring inside, just under the steering wheel somewhere that had come completely loose. they replaced the whole assembly for me, not sure though if they did it under that TSB

I couldn't tell you, but that is probably from you driving it too hard offroad. ;)

I have a Low mileage '14 and would like to do just the Radiator Support mounts. I've been reading all the feedback on doing this mod and it's been one of my favorite threads to follow. I'm distorted on what bushing package and part # to go with to just do the front. Any help is appreciated, Thanks, Jim

No issues with alignment either. Perhaps we'll see after the next trip to the mall with you or @tyfoon11.

I sure will. It might take me a while to get to it, but I'm going to order the parts and want to get the correct ones. Thank you!
