My bad...I guess Caitlyn is not a good name for your truck because you are trying to give it balls, not remove them. Silly me!

So I'm still torn between just going with the ICON AAL I have coming with the kit I ordered, All-Pro Standard or APEX leaf pack, or Dakar leaf pack. I don't have extra weight in the back that stays there all the time but I do haul things and I do have a 16' Toy Hauler that is tongue heavy (kitchen & bath in front of trailer) when there are no "toys" loaded. I don't haul or tow too often, but when I do, I don't want the truck squatting 2" lower (exaggerating maybe) in the rear than the front. BUT on the flip side, I don't want to sacrifice everyday ride quality for payload support. I guess I want the best of both worlds or a happy medium.

    My thoughts outlined:
    • I already have the ICON AAL inbound so it won't cost me anything extra to give it a go; however, it would probably be easier to sell if it was never installed but I don't really care about the resale value. I care more towards liking it in the first place and not having to make changes so quickly.
    • If I go AP, I'd go with their Standard pack because I just don't have the extra weight in the back that their APEX pack is recommended for. I just wonder if their standard pack will stand up to the extra weight when it is there.
    • Lots of you have touted the Dakar pack which made me go back and look at it more closely. My biggest question is, how does it ride with no weight back there? When I wheel the truck with no cargo, will I ever even exercise the suspension or will I just be bouncing along on the leafs? I found out I can add and remove leafs to my liking to "custom tune" the pack. Anybody "custom tune" their Dakar pack? Results?
So it looks like I'm leaning towards the Dakar with the ability to tune it but maybe I should just try out the ICON AAL since it's already inbound and I'd hate to drop the cash on the Dakar if I'd be happy with the AAL. :der:

    Decisions decisions...:frusty:

On another note, I did just order the ICON 700lbs coils so I'll have some brand new 650lbs coils available. When I ordered the suspension, I was planning on all aluminum, hence the 650s, but last minute changed my mind to steel so I went to 700s. Let me know if you're interested in the 650s and maybe the ICON AAL's if I go Dakar.

I would go dakars. I don't really carry wait either but my dakars are pretty smooth. I wouldn't go with the AP

Haven't really given air bags much thought but I just wonder if it's overkill for my application. If I can find a good middle ground I'd be happy. It is a truck after all so I don't expect it to ride like a Cadillac...just close to it.
