Nothing fancy to show off but some you can never go wrong with a couple moose burgs.

Ive never heard that before. @MTgirl i understand you might be against killing moose but i assure you it is not for sport and im not mean :) You wouldn't like it here. Certain times of year moose is almost as popular as beef. You can buy moose at restaurants aswell. It is a VERY good burger and sausage meat (my favourite)

I used to live in AK....I know how it goes... :pout:
I just love the mooses, couldn't ever think of harming one. I think the mooses love me too. This guy came up to me as I was taking pics, got a little too close for comfort. He wasn't aggressive, just a little too interested in me....I told him that I thought he was very handsome but that I wasn't interested in him in that way....

Never had to feed a family that was hungry I guess. They are cute till you are broke and homeless.... Like why they are hunted since humans could kill them.......

lolz, hunting isn't for the broke and homeless. If I give a homeless person a knife I doubt very much they're going to go last of the mohicans on a moose, buffalo, elk etc.

I know lots of families that would have a hard time filling the food gap left if they didn't get a couple deer every year. Lots of poor families depend on hunting, directly or indirectly. "Share the harvest" is a state funded program here that allows us to donate deer to processors at reduced cost and all the meat goes to families in need.

I was curious, so I just looked it up - Missourians donated over 200,000 lbs of venison through the program in 2014. That's over a thousand tons of meat that goes directly to those who need it most.

That's awesome, great cause! My harvest helps sustain my family too. Lets not mistake poor for homeless and broke though.

State Troopers in AK donate moose to homeless shelters on the regular.

That's great too! I also don't consider it a legitimate hunt unless something is harvested otherwise its just killing. Especially if it's w/ an SUV.

Busy at work, got engaged, the holidays... feels like I haven't been in this thread in ages! Here was New Year's Eve Dinner - 8oz coffee encrusted filet from local butcher shop cooked medium rare, broiled lobster tail, and sautéed spinach with garlic, complimented with bottle of bubbly and single malt scotch. Wish we could eat like this every night.

So I've got a whole chicken that I need to cook. It's probably 4lbs(just a guess). Anyone got any suggestions on a good way to do it?
