Wasn't planning on getting running boards on my Inferno Sport - I like the streamline look without. Everyone though keeps asking "aren't you putting ruunning boards on"?!?!?! Does anyone else agree with me about liking the look without?? Any other pro/cons without?!?!?

Color matched door handles, Weathertech floor liners, bed mat, Durafit seat covers, tailgate clamp, 2016 TRD Sport 17" wheels with Yokohama Geolander AT tires , Toyota exhaust tip, Toyota/Yakima bike rail mount, Toyota wheel locks, Toyota hitch cover, Redline hood struts, unifilter on air pump.
I sold the running boards off of my 2014. They looked ok, but they just got in the way of getting in and out of the truck.

My SO is about 5"3" - my nerf bars (acting as steps) are in the garage waiting for a dry day to install...

Pros are that you can put sliders on! Better protection when some soccer mom swings her door open next to you. Her door is f*cked and you can drive away laughing..ask me how I know

I like em cause they protect doors n rocker panels from gravel. Sliders would probably do the same thing though

Get sliders, literally the first day I had them on, a granny flings the door open on her cr-v and I was angry until i looked at the scape on my slider and the damage on her door :amen:

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Sliders. Many sliders can be bolted on, plus have fill plates if you're worried about having the large holes between the tubes.

You can get wide running boards that provide the same parking lot protection as sliders.

Main drawback of running boards is they reduce ground clearance. If they hit an obstacle off road, they will fold up and dent the rocker panels. Examples of bent running boards / step rails:

I think I am going to try those cast aluminum oem running boards. I like the way they look also.

They get your pants leg dirty getting in and out of the truck. I'm 5-10 so I have no trouble getting in my truck without them.

I'm looking to put sliders on to assist my son with getting in and out of the truck.

you get use to them. raining out right now...no issues with getting my slacks dirty. your hip might hurt for a couple of weeks as your muscle memory has to adapt to the new exiting tweak.

Other than that I love mine. I have the OEM black running boards.

Up here in Canada, in central Ontario where I live, its snow, salt and slush at least 4 months of the year and running boards are just another debris collector that gets you dirty getting in and out of the truck. If the truck I wanted came with them, I would make their removal a condition of sale.

Bought the widest I could find. ProZ 6" Nerf bars. Love em. Makes cleaning the roof a breeze as well as protect against door dings. No Cons

running boards and chube steps only have cons. They are useless and a waste of money

I like my chrome tube models. Really help with ingress/egress from the truck.

That's why I chose them too - and, although polished stainless, they're the only ones with welded ends - the black ones often have plastic end-caps...so I think they'll hold up fine with occasional bumps...

I've got those on my truck. They are great. Dealer matched the price I could get them for online and included installation.

Truck looks better without them. But, they keep people from dinging your door and makes it easy to clean the roof. My 12 year old tundra has zero dings.
