    :pccoffee: Hi there S/W/S*

Not much doing today. We put an artificial wreath up for the holidays and want to take it down, but first we have to chase the Carolina wrens out; apparently they took up residence there sometime in the past couple of weeks. I love their song but wow are they messy.

We also reserved seats to see the new Star Wars movie tomorrow. It's a great theater near here where they took out all of the old seats and replaced them with big, comfy recliners. The recliners are arranged in pairs almost like a loveseat. The screen is big, the image is very sharp, they don't make the sound so loud that it hurts, and they even serve wine and beer! Our last trip to the IMAX nearly blew our ears out, which breaks my heart because I love watching movies there. But we had to cover our ears and it was still painful. After that experience we were pretty much ready to stop going to the movies and just wait for stuff to come to Netflix or some streaming service. But with this new theater we've started going back again.

Tuesday we drive to a hospital complex about 2 hours from here and check in to a nearby hotel. Wednesday my wife has foot surgery, then we drive back home. And for the next 2 weeks I become chief cook & bottlewasher, maid, manservant, wash wench, etc. because she needs to keep the foot elevated 24x7 for the entire 14 days. Can't wait!

Well, hope all of you had a Happy and Safe NEW YEAR. 2016 should be an interesting year :notsure: :notsure::notsure: :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

Wife just informed me that following the tornadoes on the East side of Dallas (where I lived for many years) the COWBOY'S AT&T stadium has been designated as a Storm Shelter Facility since the possibility of a touchdown there is remote !!

If you ever get to OKC, look me up. I am a guide at the National Cowboy Museum and love to give tours to friends. Even ones I have never met.

    Evening all:
Just got done reading about some first hand accounts at the hospital, during and after the Jopin tornado hit.
If you want to read something about how mother nature can devastate, it's an interesting and scary read.
Go on "Walleyecentral" and search todays posts, or can probably just search "Jopin tornado."

8 deg. here, winter has arrived!!!!!

Single digits here too. I think the heater may have never stopped running last night.

4 here early this AM - now a blazing 16!! No complaints, though. On Sunday I sat watching the Giants/Eagles game in the outside seats of a luxury box at MetLife stadium wearing a sweater.

Boatswain. I live in OK. We have indeed seen the enormous destruction of mother nature here every spring. In the 30 but teens at night. Wind is the killer with chill factors hitting low 20s.

I drove a Semi through Greensburg, Kansas about a week or so after it was almost totally wiped out by a Tornado some years ago. It looked like the place had been bombed!
