If ever there was a time that the Red Rocket needed to overcome his inability to win a game after 4PM, this is it.

So, let's all get on the same page.

We have the Dolphins, Titans, Niners, Giants, Browns, Eagles looking for coaches. I expect Indy soon as well.

The Saints and Lions are up in the air yet.

Then we have GMs/front office turmoil. Miami has a new GM as of this morning, The Lions need a new GM, a new GM is needed in Cleveland, and Rusty Webster is out in Tennessee.

That about covers it right now, yes?

Fans of those teams, who do you guys want as your next coach? Coughlin and Kelly end up somewhere..

I wouldn't be surprised to see SF hire Sean Peyton away, he's made it clear he's interested. Would his style work in the west?

I personally think coughlin is done. He's 115 years old.

Kelly either goes to Tennessee or sits out a year and ends up back in college.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
That is the most idiotic thing Ive heard today. Who cares what his record is; compare last years team to this years. Or better yet, the early 2015 Redskins to the 2016 Redskins.

Everyone knew this would be a season of building and restructuring and no one expected Washington to even come close to winning the division. They had a very rough season start but each week they continued to improve across the board. Team coherency has improved and for the first time since Snyder took over ownership and started fucking everything up, they are starting to look like, play like, and win like a team.

Don't forget Gruden coached a mediocre backup QB into a pretty good starting QB that now holds the franchise all time regular season passing yards record and, IIRC, is in the top three for all time regular season touchdown passes.
Sure, it might be a little too soon to tell, but if Gruden's system gets them a win (a long shot) against the Seahawks and advances them in the post season, I'd say he def deserves a strong recognition. If his team does very well, and (a longer shot) actually make it to the Superbowl, yes, I believe he should be a top candidate for coach of the year.

He gets my vote as coach of the year just for standing up to Snyder and canning RG3-13

I'm with you on Coughlin. He made the decision to resign. He is in effect retired.

Chip Kelly would be best suited for college football as I don't think he is personable enough to be productive in the NFL. He definitely can't be in control of personnel.

Coughlin may retire but only if he doesn't get a gig he wants... he made it very clear he does not want to retire and excluded that word from his press conference and his team meetings.

    Random Seahawks stats

    They finished the season:

4th in the league at 3rd down %
4th in the league in scoring (tied with Pittsburgh)
4th in the league in total offense
1st in the league in points allowed (4th year in a row, 1st time since 1960's)
1st QB in the history of the NFL to have 4,000 yards passing, 30+ TD's and 500 rushing yards.
QB highest rated in the NFL
No Marshawn Lynch no Jimmy Graham.

Who knows what will happen but the Seahawks are going into these playoffs with the best team statistically they've ever had.

Breaking news... Irsay uses the words Umm and Uh more times per minute in a press conference than any other umm, uh, you know...

He didn't use the word but in this day and age with today's players, a dictatorship does not go over well. I don't see another NFL team giving him a HC job.

This just in... Pagano comes in a close second to Irsay.

Just busting chops... I'm glad for them, 'twas the right move. The Colts problems were not Pagano's fault, and he did a hell of a lot with what he had in 2015.

8-8 starting 5 different QBs. Pretty good considering.

The Pagano situation is even more stunning when you realize that Grigson is staying as well, and Irsay is essentially tying hem into a three-legged race. They either succeed together or fail together.

Stunning, considering everything I've read about that place all season, and last year as well.

Yeah, that blew up on him in Philly. I doubt he'll go to the Niner's because of Baalke. It may be another Harbaugh situation.
