    Maybe you're spelling them wrong.

What are you looking for? If you let us know, we can probably point you in the right direction.

    Replace that 2.7L with a 4.0L!

If thats not a option, you might be able to squeeze out 10hp to the wheels after spending way too much money.

No air flow sensor will do anything to performance. Lce makes the best header design. They will net some gains. Not a lot. Air/fuel module? No such thing under that name. Computer chip module? Never heard of it either. There is no "chip" you can just plug in and it do anything. There no tuning devices either that will net any power. URD sells a mad sensor calibrator that tuned in open loop and very small gains can be made.

Only thing worth it are header. But it a lot of money for small power. Or go forced inductions.

There are plenty of upgrades available. As someone else mentioned, a header is great place to start. I'm looking at Doug Thorley for mine right now, and another guy just put some on his and is happy with the results.

I'd recommend going over here to the 4-cylinder section:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/4-cylinder.51/

There are tons of options available, and the 6-cylinder guys with smartass remarks tend to stay away.

    Not possible.

Get a turbo or get a different truck.

I heard there is an air filter that will give you an extra 50 hp. Also a diezel conversion for the 4 cyl block

Get the lce header. That Doug thorely probably won't do anything. Of it does net gains it's way up in the room range. The lce header actua2 lower your torque curve. You reach peak torque sooner.

    Not really.

OP doesn't know that there is zero electrical mods that will yield results, no chips, no tuners.

Intake and exhaust is available, but isn't going to do much. Certainly isn't going to "hang with the big dogs" or whatever it was. He will see some gains, but not much.

A turbo is the only actual power producing option that is meaningful, and it's thousands. There is no easy power adders for the 2.7.

And the ones that are there make little power difference for the money, except a turbo.

I have a buddy who just put on the Thorley, and he has seen some great results on the seat of pants dyno.

Do you know any who has put on the LCE? I like to talk to someone who has actually used it - instead of 'my buddy's buddy's uncle said it's awesome!'

Tooter has an interesting thread on 2.7 mods, with dyno sheets.

But he also ripped out his power steering and AC to get more usable power, so take his mods with a grain of salt.

The best performance mod for the money for the 2.7 is an engine swap.

    Next it's a turbo.

After that, it's pissing in the wind, you are pretty limited outside of exhaust which is not going to be drastically better.

And the best performance mod for the V-6 would be swapping in an LS1.

    Then a SC.

That doesn't mean everyone wants to spend $5k+ on a mod.

There's plenty more tinkering that can be done at lower levels. He never said he wanted to freaking dragrace - OP is just looking to squeeze out a bit more. How about we just let him know what small things can be done, instead of making 'V-6 or nothing lulz' comments.

    We are.

I guess the difference between our posts is we've already answered them 20 times and you haven't even read them 20 times.

Options are listed. Go where your budget allows. The 2.7 isn't a performance motor, Toyota won't let you crack their ECU.

Bolt ons are only way, and there are few.

But remember nobody knows anything about this topic.

    Go to Google.

Type this in the search bar and read.

    Tacomaworld 2.7 power

Please. Then you too won't suggest people waste time chasing unicorns with a net made of rainbows - and give them the truth whether it sounds pretty or not.

It would serve you not to write off people who provide good and accurate information because you don't agree with it due to not knowing better.

    This is insane.

You guys are all-knowing and have been here a while. I get it.

Yet I'm the only one who even pointed him towards the 4-cylinder sub-forum.

If I wanted pissing contests and dudes being dicks, I'd go over to Pirate4x4. I came to TW for dudes helping other dudes. Yet here we are telling a guy his only option is to swap in a 4.0L. That is complete and utter bullshit, although it may satisfy your infantile desire to condescend to others - even new guys coming to this site for help, not to be spoken down to.
