I don't think you read DCSBFTMFW's posts because he did mention in fact more options than just doing a 4.0 swap. More than once.

Check out headers. As has been said several times those are really the best option, and exhaust - but unless you want to get into some legit modding that's pretty much the extent of the options.

Check out a thread by Tooter, that I mentioned before. He had some good info with dyno sheets on what works and what doesn't.

    Let him do whatever.

I'm sure there's a thread asking if 5100s offer 6" of lift or a thread about fitting 35s on stock suspension that he's handling effectively.

Gilbert, I will try and find the thread from Tooter I was referring to, but if you see his posts around he is pretty much the authority on 2.7 performance.

Gimme a minute for the link.

Dyno tests prove results, and on a positive side the baseline numbers for emotion and oversensitivity remained low throughout the testing.

Bolt ons and removing power steering and AC from his engine yielded gains. You probably want to keep that stuff, so like I said.. Headers and exhaust. After that it's pretty big money.

Congrats on the first truck purchase on your own also. That isn't a small task.

Tooter designed an intake spacer that helped drop the torque peaks down even further, but they were made in super small numbers (I think 10?) and he isn't making more. I think I've seen one come up for sale, ever.

You could read up on them and see if that's something you want to try, and if so, place a WTB ad in the marketplace and see if someone wants to sell theirs. Probably a hard thing to track down though.

I'll add that if you live in California, you're really screwed. Headers aren't legal here and neither is the turbo that's available AFAIK.

You might do some research on intakes.

The factory intake is a cold air intake and likely has more performance than the intake you're running now.

    I know. Sounds weird.

    There are dyno sheets.

    :D

Maybe gears are an option? Won't wake the motor up but will help make it feel less lethargic under foot.
