Traffic and Weather apps on 2016

Wait.. They work over cellular when connected to entune? I thought I tried that and still got the standard "no HD radio signal is available". If it actually works with the app, I'll have to connect it again (I reset the receiver to get rid of the entune apps that I'm not gonna use)

 

It won't work that way because the Entune App Suite is not available in Canada.

 

Just install one of these in the bed of the truck for weather:

 

weather for those in the USA is updated via clear channel radio stations. takes about 2-3 minutes to get the latest update if you normally don't listen to radio.

 

VicTaco where does you stop quoting the manual? I know there is no HD in Canada. I don't expect it to be any benefit to me in Canada but I do intend to use it in the US, hence my desire to install it. We shall see what the dealer says when I get home.

I did offer to check to see if weather and traffic apps showed up when accessing a Washington State HD radio station (since the Entune apps aren't available to us), which I think could have satisfied your concerns, but now I think you're on your own from here on out.

What makes you say HD radio is not available in Canada? I listen to it here in Ottawa in my Taco, and my BMW. What I would like to know is why the weather and traffic apps don't seem to work here!

 

HD radio here in Vancouver as well. 101.1 FM also gives you HD cknw on HD 2 and HD traffic channel on HD 3. Probaby a bunch more HD just havn't checked

 

Do you know if you can just order a different SD card from a US mainland Toyota dealership and if it'll give us in Hawaii the traffic and weather app?

The weather app is stupid anyway. Weather from 20 miles away in a city you don't care about...you ain't missing much on that one lol
