I see so much talk of right hand pull but haven't seen more than maybe two members say they have it... maybe I missed some? Perhaps not everyone has chimed in?

@Chux What do ya think about a right-hand pull poll?

In my experience at times I feel a pull and sometimes I don't, when I do it varies on how bad. I have expressed that right now I have a terrible alignment (in a rubbing fashion). I'm awaiting a few front end mods and a front bumper next month to get another alignment. I'll be using a reputable shop this time. Once I feel like my alignment is dialed in I'll have a better answer for you.

Well... I voted. My 265's pulled to the right. 285's don't, at least not a noticeable amount. Should have an option 4... Other... Lol

As I said earlier, I had a aggressive right hand pull with the 285/70's. I loved the Maxx's and hated to get rid of them but the pull drove me crazy. Traded them out for Duratracs. I have had them on a number of different trucks through the years and have never been disappointed.

@Sctacoma4x4 as for it being an alignment issue, I had the truck aligned 2 days before getting my wheels and tires installed. Experienced the right hand pull. Rotated the right side (front to back). Got it aligned again. Experienced the right hand pull worse. Rotated left tires (front to back). Got it aligned again. Still experienced the right hand pull.
After two rotations and 3 alignments, I gave up and swapped them out. Caster is right at 3* camber is like .06* and toe is 0*. Or close to those number anyways. I've got papers from at least 2 of those alignments. I can post them if I find them.

So true! I guess this became the dumping ground for information due to it being the largest ST MAXX dedicated thread.

@tdcampbe I meant alignment in tires.. Not truck.. Not ever tire is made equal.. .. Sounds like yours were no good.. Esp if putting a different tire on and it was fine..

About 11k miles on my 255/85r16 st maxx. Finally had them up the snow. Still very happy with them, no issues with pull or anything else.

Based on this tread I think I may have found my next tire in the Cooper ST Maxx. The drawbacks I'm seeing are mainly the weight of the tire. I am currently running OEM 18" wheels so I'll need to go with 16" or 17". My Tacoma is not lifted, but is running Blistein 5100 shocks. What would you all recommend for a wheel and tire size to maximize the overall look without rubbing on the truck? I've already removed the front air dam and have removed the front mud flaps as it was rubbing on the 18" with 265/65/R18 Goodyear Fuel CS tires.

    Just getting started
I currently have copper at3 at 265/75/16. On stock trd wheels. I'm contemplating on getting the st Maxx tires at 255/85/16 on 16 x 8 wheels. According to cooper's specs this is the widest wheel for this tire. So for folks with this set up. Do you have any problems with loosing the bead when you off road? I'm I even correct on thinking this could be a issue? I'm I better off going with a 285/75/16 with a 8" wide rim?

What do you mean but "16x8 4.5 back spacing?" Offset by +4.5?

4.5 backspacing will have 0 offset typically. Backspacing is the distance between the hub and inside lip of the wheel. Offset is between the hub and center line of the wheel.

Just wanted to share my experiences with the ST Maxx, specifically their snow capabilities. I have 255-80-17 on an OME 886/Dakar lift. I live in Breckenridge CO, and as such I experience more than my share of cold/snowy weather. I've driven them through a number of snowstorms and they have been excellent. I can keep my truck in 2wd a lot of the time which is nice for fuel economy. The only time they really have any issues is in extreme cold (below zero)...I find that they slip a little more. I've driven them in temperatures down to -25 and they do ok, just need to be a little more cautious. As far as offroading, I've driven them in pretty deep snow and they do great.

I was a little concerned with having non-snow tires, but the Coopers have performed extremely well in pretty much any situation I've been in

fyi, these are load "E" tires. A good alignment shop will air them up as such. I had 45psi in the front and 50psi in the rear. These are meant for full size trucks. I have 285's. I love them and they look killer. I will say 35psi for front and rear feels pretty good, and you can look in the beginning pages of this thread to see aussies airing the tires down and doing a puncture test on youtube, for those worried about breaking loose the tire bead.

Fail.... Went to order a set of 255/85/16 from Big-O. They didnt have any in the warehouse, so they called Cooper. Nationwide backordered with 5-8 week wait.
