    bye bye droid.
I have to admit, I miss the speed and features it has to offer. I will miss the android apps. I had to many problems and they switched it out to find even other problems with the droid.
I would send mms to a contact in my book. good thing it was not a naked picture cuase it went to some dude in another area code with the same number. happened a few times. The battery life was way to short... sure I coulda bought a spare, but that and a charger (if they make one ) is to much$$ for me.... also had blackouts where it would reboot randomly.
The last thing for me was size. I carried my iphone in pocket for 14 months w/no issues. Droid is to bulky plus with the keyboard I would be afraid to put pressure on it.. I work in tight places where my weight prob would have crushed it. I tried a pouch and could not stand it. I need a phone that can stay in pocket. Also contact structuring for me was bad as I have 100's of business contacts and could not even find a good managing program.
If they make a droid 2 without the keyboard I think (my opinion) they would stand a better chance to compete with iphone.
anyway went with a blackberry for now cuase AT&T service areas sucked for me and not worth it any more.
next year google and sony are releasing a phone to compete with the droid and Iphone... I think i'll use the bb and wait out to see the winner after months of use
Not saying its a bad phone... it's just not for me;)

Turn off the GPS and the battery will last all day. The minute you turn that GPS on you're draining your batt in half haha, Some dude with same number thing is wierd, but I wouldn't blame that on the phone. Every droid owner should know it has bugs. There are two updates coming out, one this month sometime, and another in Jan. Verizon won't even accept returns unless its a damn good reason. I think you're really going to regret it. If you were worried about breaking it you should have gotten the Body Glove case.

Toyota all weather floor mats. Mag light that clunks around in the jack compartment. Dog hair. Dog drool on the windows.
I love the phone! But hate some of it's features at the same time,.. I am actually going to look AT TRADING IT FOR THE eRIS. Not saying i am going to do it. But I absolutely hate the slide out keyboard. And i can't carry the thing in my pocket. it's to bulky. It's a great phone, but the size, and keypad drive me crazy. Between the droid, And eris droid its pros and cons. Been researching it all night, and part of today. rumor has it HTC put an OTA update which will take their phones to andoid 2.0. Weather verizon relays it is up to them (greedy bastards).

i'm having some battery complaints as well. not enough to make me return it but i'm waiting for seido to come out with an extended life battery for it. i keep my screen around 35% brightness and rarely use gps or wireless and mine is down around 30 or 40% battery life by the time i need work and needsd to be charged by around 7pm. its not nearly as good as my curve but it can do about a million things my curve couldn't so its a fair trade off. but i will def buy the extended battery the day it is available. anybody know when that might be?

pretty good. it takes some gtting use to coming from a BB though. one thing i miss alot is the ease of dialing out. on the BB you can just start typing in the name from the home screen. with the droid you have to hit the "phone" button. then you have to hit the "search" button and then begin dialing the name. so it takes a few extra steps. not a huge deal but a little annoying. but for the most part its pretty damn simple. plus there is an app for everything. so instead of having to go into settings to turn wifi or gps on and off i have an app that shows a toggle switch on my homescreen i just hit. i recomend getting your hands on one and playing with it before you go to VZ. any friends or coworkers have one?

I love my keyboard. Especially when playing NES roms. But, I would suggest you return it and wait for the HTC Passion. Rumored to be coming out soon. Even more powerful than the droid but no keyboard. Which rules it out for me.

The great thing about android is there literally is an App for everything. Even to replace stock apps. There are a bunch of email clients, sms apps, camera apps, browsers, home screens, gps. You can pretty much replace everything that came with the phone.

one reason i was skeptical about the iphone was teh lack of keyboard. but i'm so unimpressed with teh hard keyboard and impressed with teh soft keyboard on this phone the keyboardless version might be an option for me. i wont be replacing mine for a while either way but at least now i know i can live without a physical keyboard

For me the physical keyboard has taken a little getting used to. but I'm good with it and fast.

Seth, I tried to find where you said what kind of a car dock that is, but I guess I missed it. What kind of dock is that? I'm very interested in getting one of these for using the navigation features while driving. Thanks!

This has to be the best phone I have purchased. I've gone through many phones (iphone,iphone3g,chocolate,treo,razrv9x,envytouch, there may be others) this has the most fluidity of any I've used.

Is anyone using trapster? Very handy tool.
