    Your u-joints and slip yoke are definitely dry but the noise we listened to under slight acceleration is the carrier bearing. It had a lot of up and down play when I checked it. At least a 1/2" of up and down movement, not under load.

    All first gen joints have a grease fitting.

    If anything shifted you should be able to see it around the bolts washers and edges of the frame. but i wouldn't rule out a diff or spider gears. Mark broke a ring and pinion and it still got him all the way to moab where he finnished it off.

    that play is coming from the rubber around the bearing, It's normal I would seriously grease everything and see if the noise changes before ever changing that bearing.

    Went to Les Schwab and got a free brake check, my dad insisted it was probably the brakes so I went. Not the brakes! So I'll be going to LTS Motors tomorrow for an inspection, they said it's $45 to look it over and they have awesome reviews so hopefully they can find something. I heard Peterson Toyota is a bunch of crooks so I decided against going there.
