    I have an 05 Tacoma and I have finally decided to go with the flowmaster 50 series dual exhaust kit. I have also decided that I would like to just go ahead and weld it together so I don't have to worry about the clamps loosening after a few months.
    So my question is have any of y'all welded and how did you go about it? Did you weld while it was up on the truck in the hangers or weld it then put it in the hangers?

    I'm assuming you're going to have to do SOME welding in position. Best bet is just weld as much as you can on the bench first man. I could be wrong but I think welding in position is inevitable.

    Do you know how to weld? If not you should find some material to practice on. Like your old system. Mig is fairly easy, it just takes practice.

    I would weld it in position. From what I can remember those clamp together systems have some play in them so it may be difficult to get it just right on a bench and not on the truck.

    Yeah I can weld so the ability isn't the problem :D I just don't want to make this harder than it should be

    I sub assembled and tacked while in place the yanked it off and fully welded.

    In that case, tack it all together on the hangers, then just let it flop so you have room to weld it.

    @rjsimz welded his exhaust instead of using the clamp.

    @Russtoy did also

    I'd say this is probably the most effective method.

    This is what I did. Made life pretty easy, with nice welds...especially since you already know how to weld.

    Good luck!
