My compressor is for the locker and I have been given the green light to find a suitable solution to air up in minutes, if not SECONDS.
I may be in for this...

I loved CO2 except for having to refill it.. Closest place is 20 minutes away. Plus I need my compressor for lockers which are coming soon :spy:

So here's the scoop: It is correct that Discount doesn't offer siping anymore, including the Renton Highlands location, but it didn't have anything to do with liability. Discount still believes that siping is beneficial, but not cost effective for the space that the machines occupied and the labor involved. They found it was more effective to sell a tire that cost $14 more, than to sipe a cheaper tire for $14 extra.

As far as warranty goes, there's manufacturer warranty, and then there's Certificate's, which are an additional warranty offered by Discount. It sounds like Cert's are what you're referring to TacoSTIG, as you mention the cost. Discount honors the Certificate warranty even on tires siped by other stores(like Les Schwab), as like I said, they still believe in its' benefits.

Siping never had any effect on manufacturer warranty anyway, and Discount would eat the loss of tire claims denied by manufacturers from siping. This was never really an issue though, because the tires that sustained damage from siping were tires that didn't have mileage warranties anyway(like the MTR).

On a more general note, if you're getting something siped that has deep lugs, like an MTR, it's best not to have them siped the full depth nor the full width of the tread blocks. It's best to have them center-siped, and only cut about 6/32nd's deep, which does mean having them siped 2-3 times during the life of the tire.

Can't you plug an ARB hose into your ARB single compressor? That will be much quicker than both of those..
Or go this route http://www.instantairsupply.com/home/4-5lb-co2-on-board-air-system-mini.html and PM @geekhouse23 for the discount code for this group buy https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/instant-air-supply-gb-2016-ends-1-11-15-at-12am.403003/ Price should be very close to those with the discount

Great info, and yes it's the Certs that I paid for, figured they were worth it given the replacement cost of a 315 MTR. It's really good to hear that siping wont void those. Given what you know on the subject is there anywhere you'd recommend I go in the area? Been a long time customer at Discount/AmericasTire and have never had a reason to get tire related work done elsewhere until now. Thanks!

Just checked, it's a 300 P. I have 2 dial gauge inflator so, a good dial gauge, and a cheap on digital. We can try em all!

WTF is with my spell check?

For low PSI readings I'd go for a gauge thats more in the 0-15PSI range vs one that all inclusive. Going to be easier to read and more accurate. Not sure ive seen one in the style we are used to for off roading (ie the trigger to inflate/deflate). But for the real low PSI id trust one in that range more than my ARB or the one i use at home.

Im sure someone makes one like we are used to since the low range ones are popular for ATVs and go-carting

    Something like this

    http://www.tsracing.com/store/showd...60626533&st3=-56805687&Product_ID=443&CATID=3

course thats assuming you want to be that accurate. Im generally fine with my +/- 1-2 PSI

I am normally against extended warranties in general, but Discount Certs are well worth the cost, especially on tires as expensive as yours. As for siping, I would just go to any Les Schwab. I don't know what other shops might do it, but I know LS does a good job of it.
