    I have apparently been running BOTH Webroot and Norton at the same time on my business PC.
    They are both up for renewal. Is one better than the other? Can they both run at the same time and get along? Is it a waste to run both?

    Nope. They don't do anything but slow down your computer.

    Don't tell IT :gossip:
    I disable that crap on my work computer too.
    I do take a few precautions in that all the media and files I want to keep are stored on a separate computer acting as a server. I have an image of my hard drive with the OS and some basic software installed and once a year or so I'll wipe it and reinstall that image.
    You'd be surprised at how much a fresh install will speed up an old computer. Windows gets a little crusty over time.

    The startup will be much faster w/out one, but thats still too big of a risk for me..I checked my work laptop, but cant find any programs they are running...yet my laptop is super quick on startup.

    Since I switched over from pc's I've not run anti virus, nor have I had any problems. I went through two pc's in three years running kapersky! Mac's seem to be the Toyotas of computers!

    I've said it once and I'll say it again. It doesn't matter if you're running PC or Mac. Just use safe internet browsing/downloading behavior and you don't need antivirus or malware protection.

    I'll keep the Webroot, it's free for another two years apparently. Might retire around then anyway so that will work out well.
    I never shut the laptop down accept for automatic middle of the night updates (and it restarts on it's own) and when I go on vacation, so startup isn't an issue.
