My friend had them on his Grand Cherokee and all we ever heard on the highway was WAAAAAAAHHHHH. My roommate has Toyo MT's and they are about the same volume to me. Could also depend on the vehicle though.

I will have to do a video of mine tomorrow. I never get anything even close to that. Maybe the edge trim is making a difference. I never noticed anything close to that before either though. Unless I have just had it on for so long that I am used to it.

What did you use to video? Just a phone or something else?

I'm the same way, if anything, I'm only bitching about wind to make future products (and hopefully any fixes for ours) better. The wind noise is all good, but I know I'm going to have a 15 hour drive numerous times in the future, and I'm curious to see if I blow up and rip the thing off half way through..

I had a ladder on my truck and drove 8 hours with horrible wind noise, I just turned up my radio and forgot it was there. Granted I was the only one in the truck haha. Wonder how bad the wind noise is on the first gens?

Yeah, if no one is in the truck that I need to have a conversation with, the radio does a fine job of drowning out the noise.

Problem solved. Have any "needed" conversations before you get underway. Then just rock out all the way there.

So after hearing the video yesterday from @Overkill07 I started to be really concerned. I have never witnessed anything close to that amount of noise after 2 years of having the rack in various configurations and even various iterations of the rack. We will still have to troubleshoot things a bit to see why some are getting such mixed results. I have the same exact setup (except maybe more crossbars, and the edge trim along the wind deflector) and the video below shows the noise I get (don't mind the audience commentary from the back seat )

Conditions were ~34F with light rain, and a moderate wind coming from the north west (I am traveling north)

I didn't see a major change in noise by having more crossbars, but it is possible that I didn't really appreciate the benefit of the edge trim.

The kiddos crack me up

But in all seriousness I am floored by the difference between our two videos. I don't think I ever heard anything louder on yours than what I hear at 45mph. I'll upload more under different circumstances.

Yeah that was my reaction too. For us both having 30" bars with the deflector on the lowest setting there shouldn't be a difference. Dont get me wrong I have had moments where mine is noisier that the video but usually that is when there is a violent cross or head wind. The video I posted is pretty much the normal for me.

Must be the red bolts on your light bar making all the noise.

Did the other person get the ligt bar running with the same fix as myself (20amp Fuse)?
