They finally came in!!! My WeatherTech floor mats couldn't have come at a better time. The forecast calls for 2 feet of snow in the next 3 days!!! I hate tracking snow into the truck.

Finally upgraded from a revtek spacer lift to the 5100s up front. I have them set to 2.5" with a 1/4" top plate spacer. It sits higher than the spacer kit did, and there is a definite difference in ride quality, much smoother nowimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

quick question, does anyone know if you still need wheel spacers to clear 285/70/17's if you are running a wheel with 4.75 in of backspacing? I currently have the tires mounted to factory Tacoma TRD sport wheels and have 1.25 in spidertrax wheel spacers for clearance. I have new rims in the mail right now with 4.75 in backspacing and just wondering if I can remove my spcers or not.
Thanks, sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, thought this would be the fastest place to get an answer.

    How?

A wheel spacer pushes the wheel and tire further away from everything... Further from the brakes, UCA's, etc.

Lots of bolt on chrome stuff
I have a us offroad bumper which is similarly low profile. I didn't like my smittybilt fairlead either. There's a whole bunch of options for black ones on the Internet. I ended up getting a cheaper one off of eBay.
I used some high heat spray paint and applied lightly. I have the intercooler for my supercharger back there too and noticed no difference after painting. Look for a rattle can that says you can use it on bbqs.

Spacers also cause the wheel/tire to swing in a wider arc. While they may create clearance BEHIND the wheel, they can cause MORE rubbing in the fender wells/body mount/etc.

There's got to be a better explanation somewhere about how to set that thing up other than the 60 page manual for it :annoyed:

My Taco has 265/75/r16 Duratracs on stock TRD OR wheels, 2" of lift on the front. Before spacers, there was a very substantial amount of clearance between tires and fender wells/cab mount. I then installed 1" Bora spacers to get a bit wider stance. The tires still clear, but at full lock turn and with some flexing, the clearance is minimal. I still can make 'em rub, but if the tires were ever so slightly larger diameter, I'd be in trouble!
