dont get me wrong.. the more protection the better! skids are on my to-do list as well! But I've seen and heard from a lot of people lately that paint the picture of "your a mall crawler/cant compete unless you have *insert brand or armor type here*"

I just think thats silly.. tacomas are incredibly capable out of the box. its more so driver experience than armor.. but thats just my opinion.

My favorite part. It has all the camping gear in it. Just have to load the fridge in the truck and pack a dry food bin and clothes and im done.

the RTT isnt as bad as I thought it would be to tear down and pack up to go wheeling.. as we found out this last weekend. BUT.. if we were to camp in one spot for multiple days.. and go wheeling during the day.. that might be a bummer. havent ran into an issue yet.. but regardless of what setup you have (minus a trailer obviously) you have to pack up camp anyways to go wheeling.. unless you have a designated spot and can leave your gear there. which most people wouldnt do anyways.

maybe one day we can build a trailer :D

Moab this year convinced me I needed a trailer. 10 days of setting up and breaking down the trailer in the same spot.

thats exactly the scenario I was thinking of. Lol luckily.. As of now.. We dont do a whole lot of those kind of trips. Closest thing we've done was this last weekend and the multiple camp spots.. Which wasn't bad at all.

    Fuck off

Different strokes for different folks. The way I see it is most of the time when people try to say a truck isnt capable for whatever reason they dont even know what the truck is used for. People that say it isnt capable just live in a fantasy where the only thing that exists is their own little world. Too closed to realize everyone is different. If you enjoy your truck and its capable for what you do then who cares what others think. The problem is I do the same thing but opposite. I think my truck is done, then I see something and want it, like people that have superchargers, I see their posts and it just reminds me every time, asshole ;)

I know man.. Im just tired of people feeling like they are being bullied into getting this stuff because "Tacomaworld" said so. I've been there, done that. had a custom exhaust made because my stock crossover was crushed, have slid on my frame more than my sliders. I think your truck is plenty capable.

    anyways.. sorry Q.

My sliders have been pointed and laughed at more than once... both for being on a PreRunner, and because they are original Demello square tubes. Well they've protected my truck many times bouncing over rocks, and a couple weeks ago the kick out saved my door and bedside as I side swiped a wall out at Sycamore. I decided I want a little more protection so I'm getting bigger sliders. It doesn't make the old ones no good! Everyone loves Billies... I've blown up 5 of them. People hate ProComps... My rears have been intact for 2 years. It's all opinion! We're all just a bit fanatical about our rides in one way or another!

Trailer... I have one lined up. I just need to figure the finances out as we have lots going on here.... but it'll make a big difference for me once I get it.

I'm looking forward to getting my PRERUNNER out there with you guys! Lets go bounce around!

Just reading through the trailer build and I saw this. I couldn't agree more with it, I don't have alot of room to talk though as my truck has armor all over it, but that was before I knew how much my truck, and my driving abilities, were really capable of. I've never once used my front or rear bumper for bashing on rocks or getting through trails, so if I could, I'd go back and probably go a different route. I'd stick with the sliders and skids though, they give me a great peace of mind and have saved me more than once when I got a little to :burnrubber: on the trails.

I think it depends on where your live. The terrain in norcal is very rocky and I mean boulders in between trees type stuff. My sliders and skids get a workout on most trails here. I would have trouble on the trails with a stock front bumper for approaches and my fat ass bumper tends to land on rocks.... all day long....
