    Stock and loving it
It seems lots of people in the Carolinas are getting deals near invoice, or even below it

Cheapest flight I see is $144 one way. That isn't bad at all. I am going to try Detroit first, cause like I said, I need to put up a deer stand.

Mine was in New Bern, NC. Based on my rough calculations, it ended up being about $260 over invoice. The dealerships in my area were all pretty similar on the discount off of MSRP, they just differed on how they evaluated my trade.

It is 17 in wheel and tire upgrade and predator side step tubes, chrome exhaust tip and badging. Before tax and title it would be 32600 and change.

I got the same truck without JBL but with the homelink mirror for 36K OTD. My 935 "delivery" fee was included in that price.

I found a Costco dealership out of state that will sell $300 over invoice and the plane ticket is $99 one way. Gas for the drive back is about $150. I am definitely considering it.

Min wage is the same as National $7 something. But if one gets a job making $10 an hour, it is a livable wage, or better yet with Boeing or BMW or any of the large tire companies, Those workers live very well on $15-$20+ an hour.

A new house can be purchased here in Myrtle for as little as $120K, Fuel is usually among the three cheapest in the nation. ($1.55) Sales tax is 8%. I cashed out My RE in San Diego and Las Vegas in 2007 when they were paying stupid money for homes and flipping them in weeks. Ther is a LEO down the street who makes $35K a year and has a nice home and lives well.

I chose Myrtle Beach because of the beach living, moderate temps and cost of living. If I were still in California I would still be working and dealing with that State's nanny laws. None of which are in place here. New Mexico was in the running as well.

A LOT of people retire here from the NE and live like Kings on their fat pensions, As long as they leave their politics at home, no one minds. Don't want to create the mess here they suffer in my home state of NJ, Tolls, $1000 a MONTH property taxes. An "Exit Tax" if you sell your home and leave the state,

A lot of Federal money is sent to SC. A lot of poor here 37-1 Black to white. Both have their share of low income. Other federal monies go to Military, State , and Federal retirees who move south who want their dollars to stretch and it sure does here. The Nicer weather is a bonus. Many stop in NC or move on the Florida as SC is too red for them (which is a good thing)

Sounds a lot like Oklahoma. Gas is $1.48 right now. new house in the 100k range. lots of manufacturing job here. I have quite a few rent houses in different areas. Property Tax ranges from 57 (yes, $57) to 600 a year.

Black DCSBOR with Premium/Tech non JBL, Tow, Floor mats(tub style), door sill protectors, Mudguards - $38K OTD.

My county of WI has 5.5% Sales Tax then whatever title and tags are, so roughly $35750 or so assuming approx. $2K taxes and $250 tags and title(not sure on the tags and title price). That's about $250ish over invoice after the $900 destination fee I think.

Best I could find and I called about 8 dealerships within 200 miles of Green Bay.

I've been lurking around this forum for a couple of months now and have finally talked myself into getting a 16' Tacoma instead of a new Accord. I want a silver TRD Sport 4WD DCLB (a bonafide unicorn apparently) and I'm in the Dallas Metroplex. Anyone anywhere close to here have any luck getting their truck at, or very close to, invoice? I thought I remember someone mentioning the Austin or San Antonio area but I don't remember if the actual dealer was mentioned.

I was told the best they could do on the base 4cyl, super white, without back seat, look like work truck... Was 22000. Sticker said 23500.

I didn't want white, and wanted a back seat. So found a silver one, still 4cyl and 2 wheel drive... Because of upgrades the sticker price was 28000. For the 4 cylinder....

So I tried negotiating and got it down to 25... But after I added GAP insurance, Tax tag and whatever the final price was still about 28.

I guess I'm not so good at negotiations lol

Edit to add.. The dealership tried talking me out of gap insurance. Said they'd get me a better rate and most people never use it....

I know some say gap is a ripoff... Not me.

GAP has saved my ass twice in the past. I won't buy a car without it.

Insurance sucks when you don't need it. But I don't take that chance... Even my dog has full coverage health insurance. And I'm poor... Like under 20 grand a year military disability poor... But an extra little money now is better than thousands at once later. Imo.

just find one that is on the lot. I found it much easier to negotiate on something that was already there. They dont like them sitting on the lot. I was only looking at 2WD, and everyone I looked at, after a little hassle and walking away, I would get a call, I could get it for invoice EVERY time.
