Rob- Which invoice price did they use? Costco invoice is a lot different than True Car invoice. I could only imagine Truecar tacks on extra fees.

They do but if your dealer is a true car member you can hold their feet to the fore to give you the deal. On my wife's 2015 corrolla s, I got them to give me true car and special financing (.9 for 72 months) which they said was impossible at first. Ended up being like $10,000 less than Msrp.

Any chance this was a Costco deal? I'd hate to fly there for them only to play games with me. At least Costco give me some peace of mind

I live in So Cal and have been shopping around for a new 16 Tacoma. Called my local dealer (Toyota of El Cajon, who I have bought 3 new cars from in the last 12 years) and they said FULL MSRP. I told them I was ready to order and put a deposit and they did not budge. Went into Costco and put a north county zip code in to try for another dealer. Spoke to Toyota of Escondido who told me $1,100 over invoice. I'll be ordering one from them in the next week.

Thats good to know. They were $1700 over invoice 2 months ago. But, I still won't pay that. Yes, I am cheap

No, this is their standard way of dealing on trucks. They are a high volume dealer and make their money in volume. The closest Costco price I could find on a 2016 was in Cincy and it was about $1,500 off sticker.

I can't vouch for the other salesmen there, but Dean is legit. Another member here who lives in SoCal just ordered a truck from Dean and is having it shipped to him.

These third party deals are hit and miss. TrueCar is the Software Costco and even Consumer Reports uses when spitting out prices. What many will find is the discount is FROM MSRP and dealers usually have an addendum that will show up on your Buyers Contract as MSRP. See mine....

My truck's Monroney Sticker MSRP was $1295 less ($35,385). The Addendum included Nitrogen, one year key and ding protection, six oil changes, Tint and Pinstriping. As can be seen I paid for none of that. I made my offer based on Invoice. Dealers will take those TrueCar prices and add their addendum making the discount far less. Costco is ok for KIAs and Domestics. But on hotter vehicles Dealers will balk or add a lot to the Monroney sticker

Dealers can sell at Invoice all day long and make money....

So what you are saying, is deal with invoice price because MSRP is loaded with BS add-ons.

there isn't any extra wind noise. the hood is still bouncing, but I don't feel like taking it in to have some shitty body shop mess it up even more. I will wait for a TSB because we aren't driving it a lot so the paint isn't flexing too much
