Good question, I'm not sure. I haven't used or play with their xchange drivers yet. From what I read on their page, it sounds like it can replace it. I would double check with @TRSAndrew

Switched driver and confirmed that it was a bad driver. I email Andrew about the xchange drivers and waiting for a response.

Uh depends on which kit, but they all shouldn't be too bad. H1 minis are what I have and it was a breeze. I did do halos, I put the, behind the shroud. But if I redo them (eventually) I'll have 2 sets of halos on each shroud

So I got the switchback halos wired tonight. Passenger side works fine. Drivers side shows nothing. No white or Amber. Verified input to driver, all is good. Also verified ground.

Using a 12v test light, measured output of driver on each line. Both passenger and driver side show exact same output. Any ideas? Hopefully this doesn't mean a bad halo. Don't want to have to pull everything apart again.

Always test everything before sealing it.

    Did you swap drivers?

Rookie mistake I guess. I shouldnt have assumed. I didn't get a chance to swap drivers yet. Everything is soldered, heatshrunk, and taped together and well, I've been at work since 6 am. I'll have to try that this weekend.

Try that first. Just remember not to light up the halos without their drivers. Hopefully it's nothing major and a simple driver issue

Just out of curiosity, what prevents testing directly to the halo? Is it a voltage issue? If so, could it be tested with an adjustable power supply?

Yeah, regulates voltage. Not sure about an adjustable one. I was told to never run them without their resistors on and off the car. Ive seen halo failures due to not running them. And I'm sure it will void your warranty

Is the resistor built into the driver? Just want to make sure I didn't miss something.....

Your switchback driver also regulates voltage coming in

Yep likely just a driver issue. Despite the failure rate being lower than ever, we can definitely get it replaced ASAP under warranty.

Not sure if it was in this thread or not, but someone asked can the switchback xchange driver replace the original driver?

    It cannot. Completely different functions.
