I just finished building this pair of 2012+ Retrofit Headlights. They are D2S Projectors w/ 80mm RGB Halos on Apollo Shrouds. 5500K XB bulbs. Wiring harness included! Sealed with Retro Rubber, then applied GE Silicone around edges.

Built in OEM 2012+ Tacoma Headlights. Purchased the headlights on TacomaWorld https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2012-headlights-great-condition-sold.405389/#post-11345290

I did have to restore the lenses using the 3M medium duty restoration kit.

Got a set of OEMs that you will be replacing with these? I'll take $200 off price in trade for them.

What color is the Halo? Does the white glue visible once installed? Any issues with condensation later on?

Halos can be pretty much any color you want... white, red, green, blue, orange, red, etc.
The glue is just GE Silicone for extra sealant, and no it is not visible once installed.
Haven't had any condensation problems with previous builds... but I have an 03 so I have never ran this exact set of lights

If you buy enough coke, but you can get the codes off of like 12 and 24 packs that are worth more points and are only one code to enter

They saved them up for me because it was gonna be part of like a Christmas present (a yeti filled with them) but then I got a aFe CAI instead

Curious, why didn't you rotate the shrouds a bit?

They have those retaining clips on the shroud that are supposed to hold the shroud onto the projector and thats how they lined up... I could have just said screw it and only used the jb weld but they still look good IMO!

doesn't look like you used the OEM butyl or the TRS butyl to reseal them.

wondering what you used to reseal the headlights, looks lighter in color?

    Update:
nevermind, just read that you use GE silicone. Hope it sealed good because if you ever have to re-open those headlights again, it won't be pretty

Ya I reheat the butyl that is left over with a heat gun and then I put a small amount in the grove where the lens meets the housings. I clamp them down with vice grips and let them set. Then I put more silicone around the edge just for extra sealant.

Speaking from experience, those 2012-2015 donot line up properly if you are going to rely on the retaining clips. I learned that the hard way when I did my first retro on my 2013. I have 3 2012-2015 retros now under my belt. Hopefully you tested and rotated the cutoff before you added the jb weld so that both you and your buyer have a smooth transaction.

I think he meant the clips on the shrouds and projectors. But yes, you're correct! The bulb mounting area is rotated; h4 adaptor plate won't work. I still don't know why toyota did this?
