I am having trouble locating where this pops into the cab. Recommendations on where to look for it?

This is the best entry that I could think of. Directly located under the front passengers seat.

Had my pop n lock installed today by a local shop. They said install was easy and no issues to report. Seems to work flawless thus far.

Install done by a local shop called DFW camper corral. They installed my new tonneau last week too. The cost for product and install was $175.

They ordered it direct. Apparently it was labeled for a Tundra, but they knew what they were doing.

    In progress...
I did that mod a couple months ago, no problem. I installed a shell a few weeks ago with the electric lock option, that I wired myself to the cable already running to the tailgate. Worked well for a couple weeks then the 5amps fuse blew. Should I wire differently or should I think of a bigger fuse since there are now 2 actuators at the end? The cable I ran is 16ga and well insulated, the connections are soldered and heatshrinked. I don't beleive they are causing the problem.

What gauge wire will I be tapping with the pop n lock unit? I am ordering the 8535 from Amazon and am going to add some positaps (which are the shit btw) and not sure if should go with 16, 18 or 20-20tay. Little bastards are expensive.

By the way don't cut your wiring. If you read the warranty some(Ram) say it voids warranty but splicing is different and may not. For all the badasses out there that like to talk about the magneson moss act, you obviously don't deal with attorneys very often. The manufacturer can do what they want unless you have damages big enough to get an attorney to take it on retainer and the car probably isn't enough even if totaled to get a good attorney involved so you'll be paying cash so have fun paying $350/hr on a $3000 dispute.

Does the above mean that both wire runs could benefit from being protected by a fuse? Although its more connections in-line fuses are cheap. Maybe better safe than sorry and lower the risk for the 'Warranty Denied' monster to show up...

Also after watching the pop n lock video they do not seem to add any fuses? They must be relying on the existing lock/unlock fuse protection?

This thread is all over the place.

FOR FRONT PASSENGER DOOR ON A TRD OR WITH TECH PKG:

    THIS IS INCORRECT.

The bottom two wires are blue and green, tap into green and red (up one row)

Not blue and green as previously stated for the passenger side. Use the green (bottom row of black connector) and red (next row up).

The bottom two might work on some trucks but this is what worked for me.

Pop and Lock makes a good power lock for the tailgate. I put it on my 2013 and 2016. Works great. I am glad Toyota finally added a lock, but I am too forgetful to remember to lock it.

Care to share where you tapped into the cab and which wires you tapped into on your 2016?

Pop and Lock had to email me the installation instructions because the package has instructions for a Tundra. The revised instructions work perfect. I ran the wires down the driver's side, used a coat hanger to fish the wires through the frame by the fuel tank and entered the cab at a rubber plug under the driver's seat. The wires then feed under the scuff plate and splice in behind the left kick panel. The attached instructions show the wire connections. Worked with zero issues.

Question: Wiring it this way does the tail gate unlock with the driver door or does it unlock with the second button push with all the other doors?

works with the touch handle. And, you don't have to press the unlock button twice on the FOB...only once. However I did notice that the instructions say the key can still be used....mine does not. The electric lock must be used.
