So I had a dealer price-out a sport hood with everything he thought you would need to switch things over, minus paint.

How many of you think it would be worth the extra $1k for a sport hood? How much could you recoup on your OR hood? Enquiring minds want to know.

    I'm on the fence still.

The quicksand color is highly functional... but we'll leave it alone to preserve the thread.

Buy a small stick-on skewp from eBay, pay $50 to have it color-matched, install it off-center, de-badge your truck and tell everyone you have a Hilux.

I am completely on your side. The hood scoop is completely non functionally but so is throwing a set of chrome or black rims on your truck. If you think it looks better then do it. I think it makes the truck look a little bit tougher.

I could be like dozens of other people who bought new Tacos and expect somebody to trade them a sport hood for an OR hood for free. Yah! Like that'll happen...

It's all about asthetics. I know I'm not the only one who likes the sport hood more, regardless of "functionality".

Stock hood, painted, in new condition has got to be worth $500. Or am I smoking?

Think of it like this.. You have the hood practically nobody wants, unless they're trying to replace their hood due to damage.

You also have a color most don't have, so the enormous majority of buyers would have to have your hood painted, which is a couple hundred dollars.

You could ask $400 and maybe get it, but likely you'll be sitting on it.

I saw a red TRD Sport in parked in public today so I went up to take a look. I thought it looked really sharp but for the fake ricer hood scoop. With that money I'd reinforce the tailgate and get seat covers.
