You should consider a swap and paint if you find someone within reasonable distance... Could save you bucus of $$$ to be spent on other goodies... Simply a thought :)

    Cheers

Totally worth it. What's another $1000? I'll be doing this at some point.

Just go follow someone home with a TRD sport. see if they are having a rough time and fighting with their wife about financial stuff or shes pissed because he bought a truck and she cant get her michael kors purse. knock on the door and offer to trade hoods with a michael kors purse. BAM you got rid of your hood and got a sport for only 300.

It was random, but I've had experience with this I guess as well, not for a car part though... lol

People that swap sport hoods onto off-roads are lame and venturing into cheesy mod territory. Keep it clean and classy.

Unless I turn the hood scoop into a housing unit for an infrared led lightbar to use with my night vision gear. Then cheesy becomes classy! Tacky turns to tasteful. And I'm revered as a God thoughout time and eternity. Lol!

All joking aside, I wonder if this is actually possible. I guess I'll have to find out.

Who has a Sport hood that is willing to measure the scoop opening for me?

C4 fabrication already beat me to it on a 2nd Gen.

I'd like to see it on a 3rd Gen though. Infrared or even Amber would look good, I think.

    How about those measurements boys?

Ohh, now THERE'S a thought...someone should be able to program a circuit board to make the LEDs scan back and forth...
Too bad red or amber would be illegal on the road in most states. Of course, while parked, or offroading, that's a different story!

Forget the faux pas hood and just by a Federal Stamp and mount a Ma Deuce on the back of your Off Road truck. You get more image and attention from the mount than you will ever get with a hood scoop and if Trump fails to keep the Muslims from invading the US you will be able to race around your neighbourhood seeking targets of opportunity. :>). Seems to work for ISIS with varying degrees of success.

It's his truck, why do so many people care what he does to it? Want the scoop? Go ahead! Frankly I'm surprised that it was only $1k total. I would have expected more.

Get it if you like it dude. It's your truck. I love it and if the Limited had it
I'd have that truck but only the sport has this hood so I went with the Sport.

Exactly. Normally it's the knobs that still have a 2nd Gen. making stupid remarks about
the scoop being non function, cuz, ya know, it was totally functional on the older models. :D

Ya but I'm a sport, I bought a sport for the scoop, OP is an OR. Cross mixing them is usually frowned on in this forum as poor taste. But OPs truck to each their own.

Nope. It is 2016 owners that can't figure out why anyone would put a stupid non functional hood scoop on a truck like the Tacoma. All it does is extend the hood over view from the drivers seat. Form over substance seems to be popular these days in some parts so I guess one should not be surprised. If someone has a Magnetic Grey OR truck in the WA State area and wished to pay me a $1K US for the Sports hood on a swap it would be almost worth the trip.

They scoop does look sexy though, I do have to admit.

Nope. Most 2016 owners here are previous owners who are well aware.

Stupid? Non functional? It's about looks. With that view anything you do to
the truck should be considered "stupid & non functional". Doesn't impair my
    view one bit.

Which model 2016 did you get?
