When I truck camp, the dual burner Coleman goes with me. No doubt it's easier.

Yeah, for truck camping the dual-burner Coleman is a no-brainer. But, so's a cooler full of beer instead of a flask with some whisky, haha!

Not to mention camp chairs, a few guns, some ammo, fishing gear, kayak, the BIG tent, etc.

I was taught to never clean the soot off the camp pots. The black bottoms heat up faster. My last new cup I painted the bottom black to speed up the process.

Another tip, and to second what somebody else said, if you cannot afford a nice tent, then get a tarp and some paracord. Commit to camping for a year with the tarp while you save up for the tent.

There are lots of videos about how to set up a tarp. I tried it once in sub freezing in front of the fire ring. It was semi miserable. But fun. My wife tried with me but bailed around 2:00 in the morning.

Well, that and have a bunch of gear that makes being "homeless" in nature a whole lot easier, and darn luxurious really :D ha

I've never heard that. My boots weren't worn down that much, but they were worn down to where I didn't have good traction on wet rock.

I had mine done by Dave Page (http://www.davepagecobbler.com). I don't see anything on his site about any boots not qualifying for resoling.

I got a pair of PrAna Brion for a birthday gift but I'm feeling like I should have something different that's a bit more durable. The waist is a little too baggy for me and I also feel odd wearing pants that are so stretchy for some reason. I typically wear my Columbia Silver Ridge Convertable pants but, those are pretty thin. Any suggestions?

I really like a pair of Mountain Khakis that I have. seem pretty durable and they are about as comfortable as pants can get. quick drying, cool, and don't look half bad. sorry I don't remember the name. they were given to me by a coworker who couldn't fit in them anymore haha. offshore life got him fat

I really like my Outdoor Research Ferrosi pants, water beads up on them well, when they do get soaked they dry super fast. Theyre a little tony bit stretchy but not very much

I really want to try those Vidda Pro pants. Expensive.

But they look like a pretty serious wilderness pant.

How do you guys store all of your gear? Bonus points for pics!

I have a couple plastic crates similar to action packers that i keep most of my stuff in but i have a lot of gear that i don't take on every trip, like climbing gear or backpacks on a wheeling trip or my tent on a backpacking trip. I'm having a hard time containing all of my stuff!

all my crap is in the corner of my room In my apartment haha. I don't have enough storage room at my place so it all sits "neatly" in a corner. most of the time its semi-packed in my backpack so that its not too cluttered looking. if I had the room though, id use action packers and other various sized totes that I could stack somewhere out of the way.
