    Yeah, we discussed earlier in the thread how Han has wanted to be killed off since the original trilogy. I dunno why, but he wanted out. I'm surprised he's coming back for Ep 8

    On a side note, I'm totally on board with Darth Maul playing a part in these movies. Him not being dead is official canon because of the cartoon show, so there is still a bad mother fucker out there somewhere.

    Yes it is cannon... though I'd be surprised if they did that. Ashoka, not sure on the spelling, is also alive if they want to go there. They probably won't because of how confusing that would be to the average non fan.

    It was on Canadian Netflix, that's how I saw all of it except for a few episodes. I'm not sure if it's there anymore.

    It's a kids show. It's campy to a large degree from time to time and then so dark in other episodes that you wouldn't know it was for kids. Basically the first season does a very simplistic introduction of the characters and appeals the most to a child. The hero's always win and everything is black or white in that season. From there on the stories get a bit more complex and that's when I really enjoyed the show. The second last season, particularly the Darth Maul storyline, is very good. So is the final story arc. I was sad to finish it by the end.

    If you can't stand CGI or cartoons at all you'll probably hate it though.

    Another Star Wars show is "Star Wars rebels". I think it comes on Disney channel. Is that one not official cannon?

    No one said you had too. You aren't likely going to miss anything that would effect your take on the new films. I really doubt that they would use any of the characters from that show or any of the other shows they've done in the movies. I never committed to watching it religiously. I just started watching a few episodes every time my wife left for work and I was bored. Like any series it was done before I knew it a few months later.

    It is a neat show because it does give up a bit of insight to what happened between Star Wars II and III...

    It's canon. Episodes 1-6, clone wars, rebels and any book that came out after April 2014 to include comics and video games are considered canon
