Any good leveling kits

ah..when one question turns into a battle

 

I'm about to put a TRD Pro kit on mine. Seems to be good for what I want, has gotten good reviews on this site, and its Toyota parts. Check out what others have said about it, and look at the photos. I will use a ICON progressive AAL in the back though, just to give the anemic rear suspension some help.

I'm going to chime in here. I'm not part of the sound-bite club, and I do think for myself. I research, too (partly done here). I am guilty of being part of the MTV crowd, as it was established in 1981 (I was 7).

With all this, I still don't understand how, or why, a leveling kit would negatively affect the rear suspension. The ONLY negative I could foresee would be that the truck may be (possibly) easier to "roll over" in a quick turn scenario. What am I missing?

It could also give you worse gas mileage. Lifting the nose and cutting the aerodynamics.

But who cares what someone else does with their truck? Its not for me, but I am not going to tell a guy he can't do what he wants to the truck.

Wanting to be different so you level? Why not lift all 4 corners? If you level a truck and then throw some weight in the bed, your now sagging. That's all I was getting at regarding "leveling".

 

I got a 3/1 kit through 4 wheel parts. Cost me about $750 installed. My ass end is still higher, barely, because of the inch in the back. Overall it's been good. Rides the same, fuel mileage has been cut.

 

Well Tacomas and pretty much all trucks sit higher in the rear from factory. So by lifting the front only you "level" it. So yea if you put weight in the bed then it will sag a little bit, but so what.

 

Do you even own a Tacoma?

 

I have ProRyde leveling kit installed. 295/70/17 on DC2 wheels and Nitto Terra Grappler tires. Removed front air damp. No rubbing to date. Kit was $250
