    Does anyone know if the TPMS system on a 2015 Tacoma the same as earlier years (2014,2013 etc), I know it changed 2016 with 3rd generation.

    Are you asking if the TPMS ECU is the same make and model between years, or if 2013/14 sensors will work with a 2015... or something else?

    (What I mean to say is, the reason why you are asking will get you a more correct response)

    Yes, that is what I mean(sorry) I cannot find 2015 sensors for alloy wheels but found 2014 sensors, I am changing from steel wheels. I just noticed different (sensor) stock numbers for different years but they all look the same.

    Not really knowledgeable on TPMS, but my understanding is;

    Most sensors can be matched to most TPMS units, but there is a setup process which can vary slightly and often be tricky. Any new sensors you get will need to be matched to the vehicle, whether they are from another Tacoma or a generic you pick up from a tire shop. (but yes, the steel/alloy is different sensor types/fits)

    You can probably find instructions for this on TW somewhere. I'd be fairly sure another Tacoma's sensors could be matched, but you could also probably get some generics cheaper.

    Note all the maybe's, probably's.... Hopefully someone else can verify what I've said.

    Yes, well I found these set of four for $170 shipped but they are for a 2014, Toyota Dealer told me today any Gen2 would work but he had also told me the 2016 would work(which did not) but I knew Gen 3 tpms changed and probably would not work, now the dealership knows. So will be taking these 2014 tpms to dealer next week to put on my 2016 wheels and get synched to my 2015 Tacoma (I am beginning to hate numbers LOL) Thank you!! I have looked everywhere here on TW and could not find this situation!!

    There should be a frequency # printed on the TPMS sensor. If they match, you are good to go.

    I believe most are freq 315, my concern was fitting, I guess they mostly all look alike, just different freq, so at least a Toyota should match up with another Toyot, at least both are second gen Tacoma and 1 year difference.
