i have a 2010 and I just did new tires, rotors and the steering wheel shakes when you are driving. i took it to the tire shop and he said the tires are good. I did a check on the rotors and they only move .003 of a inch max. so don't think i could see that. is there a problem in the steering on the truck like a recall ?

    No.

But there are a lot of trucks with shake. Try searching, there's a hundred possibilities and tons of info on this on here.

If you just had new tires installed, maybe have them rebalanced.

I had the same problem on my 2011 access cab, read through all the threads and over-thought all the problems it could be: wheel bearings, alignment, steering rack bushings, bent rim, ghosts... but took it in for rotation and balance and the problem went away, go for the free/easy solutions first. Good luck!

check to see if the front struts are ok, my 2013 had a bad strut leaking oil that made my steering wheel shimmy/shake could barely see the oil weeping out the strut with flashlight but was bad

Right. If the shaking occurred after you got new tires and rotors, it's not the steering.

That's the reason I got new tires is because of it. I was thinking that was the problem. I had about 60,000 miles on the tires. I had a Chevy do it but it had 230,000 miles. I had to replace the bearings

Rebalance or road force balance if that doesn't work.

Did they actually change anything or did they just "check" them? I'd take it someplace else and/or have them road force balanced.

I paid $50 for a road force balance once and found the weights on my garage floor the next day. I took it to another shop and they fixed it for free.

This. Make sure they balance the wheels / tires using the Haweka Adapter....

Factory wheels or not? If they are aftermarket wheels you may need hub adapter rings.

I have been having the problem since I bought my '13 in September of that year. Recently replaced the tires with the MS2's, had a balance and alignment done and it hasn't changed a thing. I was thinking about taking it to the dealership to have it checked but it happens intermittently and unless there's a snowball's chance in hell, they'd probably not be able to replicate it while I was there and I'd be wasting my time.
