I searched, I promise. But Tapatalk sucks at finding things.

I'm not going to be able to buy my Taco until after May. Anyone have the scoop on if a Pro model is going to show up late in the year?

    Thanks!

The article is also a year old. It may come, but its far from official.

Maybe they didn't want to release anything or something?

Not too sure how reliable the article was that I found, and the fact it was written about a year ago.
"Jack Hollis, Toyota Motor Sales VP of marketing confirmed to AutoGuide that an even more capable TRD Pro model is in the works, though don’t look for it soon. According to Hollis the TRD Pro Tacoma won’t arrive until at least 2016."

I doubt someone would make that up. Yes they are not currently in the works yet, but i'm sure it would be out in the next year or so model year. If you read the email it said "2016 toyota tacoma", article states at least 2016.

True. But for the people who don't have the knowledge or skill set of doing they're own after market mods (like myself), it's a pretty sweet modded truck from the factory. I definitely like the trd pros and am interested in it. Especially like the grill...even though lots of it are just cosmetics.

what are the upgrades....springs/shocks nice tires? 2016 TRDOR+OME setup much better, OME only runs 1k plus a few hours of your time. Function over fashion

    Just buy a 3rd gen

What the hell is a pro going to cost if they make one?

Will it have a supercharger? And what size tires could I fit on it?

The supercharger program is now defunct, you can't even order them anymore. Hopefully they keep selling the belts and pulleys.

Basically, yes. I mainly just like the looks, I wouldn't be doing any serious off roading. Maybe what I would do is get the off road and put the trd pro grill on it, and black everything about. (tacoma logo, etc). I don't know, i've just always liked things from the factory, although mods are cool and all the aftermarket parts people put on their trucks. I feel like after you put in all the money to go aftermarket and then sell it later on, it depreciates the value. Where as everything original keeps it higher..not sure if it's true or not but it's how I look at it. (Unless of course they kept all the original parts) Just like things original.

Did you mean OEM by the way?

It would be nice if they did some other things though aside from cosmetics, springs/shocks/tires. Maybe a functional hood scoop or something...if you think about it the pro is basically a mix between the sport and off road. Wonder if it will have fender flares or not. (assuming it does come out)

OME.....springs(of course Bilstein shocks as well), adds ~2" of lift, and from what I hear performs a bit better than stock.

I was already planning on a DCSBOR, but would like that no hassle already lifted by Toyota PRO. The dealership next to my work (Karl Malone) has this thing for adding lifts and tires and steps and charging an extra 10k and there's no way I'd do that.

I talked to a Toyota Tech Center engineer yesterday, and they mentioned that there was indeed a TRD Pro in the works, but it is the marketing people who select the components, not the engineers. They also mentioned that there will be all kinds of new electronics in 2018 like lane departure, adaptive cruise and all the other stuff for bad drivers.
