Not sure your antenna ground is doing much good bolted to the composite bed...

There are metal anchors behind the tie-downs. It grounds-out, i tested it before hand. Otherwise a hook supported by plastic only wouldn't work too well...

I since tucked all the wires in behind the radio, so none are visable and the radio is never in the way of the passenger. They really have to bend their leg funny to touch it. Not that it would hurt it to rest their leg on it constantly...

passenger side side-seal trim piece.. just pops up by hand.

there is a grommet under the passenger seat just past the rail. You can pull carpet up by hand. I cut a slit on the rear-end of the grommet under the truck, and ran my antenna wire through.

you could always add a little black gasket sealant if you were worried about water encroachment. I'm not worried.

I zip tied the cable under the truck and ran the cable between the bed and cab. i wrapped the cable with some foam tape so that it would fit in the gab snug and not slap back and forth against the cab or bed while driving. it may be unnecessary, but oh well. Other than that, it is just fed through the crack in the corner of the bed and screwed into the antenna mount. IMG_5495.jpg

Pre ground wire and plastic covering.
    IMG_5507.jpg

If you have a manual trans, you can't use the common engine firewall grommet everyone uses. So i fed a large wire from the positive terminal through the grommet that goes around the A/C forward and return lines. It is way up above the pedal cluster on the inside. That wire in the foreground is my positive lead after it is wrapped in plastic and zip tired. you can't even tell it is there really when you look under hood.

I decided to use an Aux fuse box (added lights, etc.) and used it for the radio. The radio's ground just uses one of the 4-5 hex bolts located up under the passenger footwell, right near the radio. There is a passage to run the positive cable behind the console from footwell to footwell. very simple.

sort of a write-up... hope it helps. i can always take more photos...

my unit barely fits inside the center console and honestly im not a big fan of how crammed it looks and how close the knobs on my model come to the lid so I am most likely putting it on my passenger side near the Qi charge pad. I am missing some things I forgot to order to complete my install but will post pics once they arrive and I complete it.

Nice. I didn't want it out in the open and this way you can't see it unless I'm using it. I'm still waiting on my relentless fab antenna mount to show up and then I'll be good to go and get it tuned. Can't wait.

I don't think the radio will fit in the center console with the antenna cable and mic plugged in. The door won't close. I thought about putting mine there. I got an organizer instead and mounted mine left of the QI charger. (Photos earlier in post)

@boultman so you hooked your CB up directly to the battery you didnt use the 12v lighter adapter as your power source? Im debating between wiring into the lighter source inside the center console or to wire to the battery

yes, install is done. I wired an Aux fuse block in the driver kick panel. Has 6 fuse blocks. I wired THAT directly to battery with 30 amp fuse.
So i wired the CD to the fuse block, so it is constant power, like everything else on the fuse block.

if you have a manual trans, you can run the hot lead through the grommet of the AC lines that go through the fire wall.
