I did not come into this thread to insult what you believe in , so please show the same respect.

You still don't know my beliefs(Give you a hint, not christianity), so no point was proven .

If you're not Christian, then really, why does it matter to you? I'm not Buddhist and I don't care if someone jokes about that.

And before you came in, name calling hadn't happened in 22 pages. Way to go.

I also see you've been for a whopping 3 months. Your observation of how TW works, the jokes, the thread derailments simply amazes me.

I have a problem no matter what religion gets bashed. That is something some people hold very close to them. It was more the text that got me annoyed.

As you can see from your previous post, you can make any religion look stupid, including atheism. I am not religious, but that stuff is irritating.

The thread was for people to talk about their religion, not go hating on everyone else's.

To respond to your edit there...Been here for 2 months, not 3. Does that make me less of a person?

    i. What are my observations on how TW works, how are they wrong?
ii. Jokes? I didn't tell any jokes
iii. Believe your joke told in bad humor started the derailment

The point is on TW we derail threads with jokes, unrelated comments, etc. If you get butt hurt every time something on here offends you, I suggest you leave as that happens a lot around here. The people that stay on here are very tolerant of most jokes an opinions. If they doesn't sound like you then honestly this forum is the wrong place for you. Granted, if things get too heated the mods step in, but for the most part people on here discuss whatever they want however they feel about it.

And if it really bothered you, you simple could have PM'd me asking to remove it because you were offended. Instead you come across as a dick to everyone else.

The two month part is about haven't been here long enough to see that, and yet you still open your mouth the way you did. Sorta like joining up, and your first post starts by insulting all the senior members.

Never been offended by anyone's jokes on here yet except yours, nor have I been butt-hurt, just check my previous posts.

Yes, I probably should have PMed you. It didn't seem like a joke when you posted it, on other forums people post that stuff just to be a dick.

Raised Catholic. At age 7 to 12, struggled to "be religious" for parental (and grandparents and community) pressures. Decided it was a hoax and was promptly told not to display these feelings- ever.

You are all Atheists. You deny everyone else's Gods and I deny only 1 more god than you.

I have come to the realization that God was a concept created to quiet the insecurities of the ancients- when your crops die, you ask God for help (unless God is punishing you.) When lightning and thunder rages and seems larger than life- is that God?

When looking inward at your own "soul" it is difficult to acknowledge the cold computer that is your own brain and to understand that "soul" isnt something real, even if we do feel important and amazing- and label that the "soul."

The universe is a badass place, our bodies are super complex and amazing. Sunsets and mountains and beauty is everywhere we look. I see no need to dress it up.

I do not say I know any answers about anything, and that's exactly my answer to you when you say you "know" there's a god, and you have "had interaction" with god. Prove it!

I'm sure some of you are angry by now, and I really dont care unless you are open minded and willing to change your minds in a debate, or you have proof of god- and can repeat that proof with anyone- at any time. Otherwise, I mean you no disrespect. Some of my good friends are theists and I believe them to be sane and normal people- except they believe in magical fairy tales on the scale of Harry Potter!

Thanks for the soapbox. Now back to awesome Tacomas, the thing that unites us all.

    Mike

Also, the way I see it, 30.2% of the poll respondents are atheists. (Atheist + Agnostics + Church of the Flying Spag Monster).

    That's great!
