I've been searching and lurking for a while trying to find out why my truck is doing this and what I could do to fix it but nothing I find matches my problems so here goes..

I was out to sea for an extended period of time (4 months) and had to put my truck in storage while I was gone. When I went to get it from storage the battery was dead and I had to jump it. No biggie, idling a little high, again no biggie. Let it warm up and run for a good 15 minutes and drove it home. Since then it idles high in park and neutral (right around 19-2100) not good. It doesn't matter if I just cranked it after sitting all night or if I've been driving for a while, everytime its in park or neutral its idling at that same 1900-2100 range. Before I put it in storage it was idling at around 1k and I don't know what could cause this. I'm a body guy, not an engine guy so this is stumping the hell out of me. In the past few days its been slow to crank, not slow as in it tries a couple times and then starts, slow as in when I turn the key it waits a second then cranks right up. It drives just fine its just the idling and ingition issues that are getting to me. Any answers guys? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
It sounds like your IAC may need cleaned. It is located under the throttlebody.

you'll need to take off the whole throttle body...get gaskets for the iac and the tb while you are at it...and clean both of them. seafoam deep creep will work great on both. use a toothbrush.

How much do the gaskets run? Probably a couple bucks huh?
