I went to Alamogordo last weekend. Snow all the way to Carrizozo. crazy

That reminds me of the time I took my parents brand new CRV up to the mountains and promptly burried the thing on some side road. My buddy and I eventually got it out then a guy with a Tacoma went up and got stuck 100 feet farther than we had gotten stuck, then broke a CV. For some reason I thought we could save him... and got stuck again. He had half a bar of reception and called his buddies to rescue all of us. They showed up 4 hours later with a bunch of 80s toyota Trucks. So cool.

Well.. according to toyota drum brakes in the rear are better... why else would they be on a brand new truck?

Drum brakes can die in a fire for all I care... They might be good, but toyota did a bad job with the whole semi-float inner seal bs on these trucks. One solid offroad trip and they start leaking, ruining EVERYTHING contained at the hub. For a spacer to rest on the seal

Bummer 80 axles don't swap easily. You could go FF that way...

It wouldn't be too bad but it would be a little bit of work. At that point though I rather just go diamond with elocker 9.5 center, 4 link, and ff outers :D

Haven't had that problem yet. 4runner is so much better in the snow than my Tacoma was

Good news: Got my board fixed and sliders are being working out. Thanks @mr optimist for getting that name
Bad news: Car panic stopped on a downhill in ice and my front tires being pretty worn just locked. Dodge the Tahoe but sideswiped a road marker sign. Went a little offroading, but the 4Runner made it out mostly fine.

Offset works in your favor actually because of our stupid gas tank location. Moving the exhaust is easy

At least you dodged the other vehicle.. Mine has a similar issue cus my brakes are front brake happy. So any time it's slippery conditions and I brake generously, fronts lock up and off I go.

I looked underneath and everything looks good. Drives like normal, the lady was surprised I just popped it in 4WD and drove on out.

$320...$220 for the sliders, $20 for the paint and $80 to weld. Not a bad deal considering 4xInnovation is $200 without shipping.

becuase we actually have weight on the rear axle! but I agree - Runner is super stable in the snow and ice. I have been running around mostly in 4x4 (its icy everywhere, i'm not ruining the diff gears) and have yet to slide or anything. I did get it to slide a little on a icy turn while in 2wd but I was just playing and kinda getting a feel for things.

almost looks like the trd mountain decals
