Mine had this exact same problem on the rear windows. Took it into the dealership and without any questions asked they ordered me new seals for both back windows. Since they got replaced they fit perfect like the fronts.

Is it at all possible that the windows are shutting too tightly and exerting too much force causing the seals to bulge? If this is the case could you reprogram the stop position a mm or two less.

I don't think this is the issue. I think its poor product or a run of bad seals, as the above poster said after he got new seals they sit correctly now.

My DCSB has the same separation...another thing to add to the list to have the dealer fix.

    Did these help any?

I have the exact same thing as the OP on both rear windows, would really prefer not to have to go to the dealer and remedy myself.

Did your dealership receive the new moldings, and if so did they fit correctly. I need to take my truck in for the same issue.

I see this was happening in the 2nd gen as well, some even getting them replaced and happening again. I am interested to know if the vent visors helped as I think it would have an affect. If not, I think a little dab of weatherstripping glue would do the trick.

Unfortunately they did not help, like the rest I'll be looking to replace the molding instead.

I have the same issue... Showed it to the service tech at the dealership and her response was, "that's normal." It is a very large dealership with a connected Lexus dealership (Montgomery, AL). e171fish...PLEASE post on this thread if your dealer informs you of a "solution from Toyota." I

I think you have nailed it! When I first noticed this by reading early posts on this thread, I also noticed backing the window off slightly helped but that's hard to remember to do. Hopefully a fix will be forth coming. i will say this: Of all the bitching I've read about the 2016 (or Gen3 if that's what you want to label it), the window molding is the only issue I've noticed so far and I'm "anal" about my vehicles.

The service manager at stokes brown toyota went out and looked at other 16s and a 15 dc and saw they all sat flat.

So he went ahead and ordered new moldings, tell your dealer to check the other 16s on their lot.

So I brought in my 2016 tacoma back to a local dealership to look at this problem, the idiot service guy made a statement like they might use some adhesive or glue to bring the seal back inline with the door (where it should be)...
Are factory window trim seals pressed down with some sort of glue/adhesive??? I'm thinking they fit normally when the seal is good.
