I will upload a picture soon of both sides of the steering wheel and housing... perhaps there is another way to access this but it doesn't show the side cutaways like it was shown here... seems odd.. I just snapped a picture of both sides of the steering wheel and I do not show any access from either side...

Your looking at the wrong spot on the second picture. Your looking underneath the headlight stalk but you should be looking at the opposite side of the steering wheel 180 degrees opposite the other cover on the right side!!!

Installed my Cruise (& Wiper Mod) yesterday. I ordered the below from Amazon (via China!!) for $26 delivered... in two weeks. Switch came with screws and wire. Looks & works as it should. This is the same CC Switch that Toyota has been using for years (same as I installed on my 08 Corolla). I'm guessing that the Guys selling them for $50-60 on Amazon/e-bay are buying these in bulk from China and are making 100%+ profit!!??
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016EKM1DS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00
I didn't buy the CC "Hole-Cover for $15...I just drilled a hole, enlarged with my Dremel Tool, in the original cover. I cut a piece from an old bike tire tube. I glued it on the backside of the cover, slit with a razor knife and it works great as a "Dust-Boot" ... and looks like a professional job!
    Fogs next ;-)

    Merry, MERRY!!

I ordered the parts per the links. Installed in 10 minutes, perfect fit. So easy with all the pics and information in the post. Thanks again for the work of the write up. I could not be happier.

    Thanks!

4min of work, hour of finding the right parts and a T30 Torx.
A few suggestions to improve the great original thread.

    1. The switch is now on Amazon for $15 shipped. I bought a kit with a cover for $41, but the cover was wrong (at least I got the screws .... No pun intended).

    2. To remove the side panels, you want to pry the side closest to the steering wheel not the top or bottom.

    3. I ordered the right cover from a dealer, but it is not here yet. Should be 2 seconds to pop on. I don't recommend cutting the original as the replacement is concave so you have better movement with the proper cover.

    4. My truck has the clutch switch already as the cruise cancels if you press the clutch.

    5. You can set the airbag on top of the wheel. That was not 100% clear from the instructions.

Thanks again! Really appreciate the write up and money saving tip!

Just did this and installed the intermittent whipper switch in one go. Took all of 30 minutes.

I was out all of 120 for both parts.

this will be the easiest of the mods for sure.
