ahhh shit dudette, I used to live there. Plenty of industry and salvage yards in Deerfield too. Googling Boca Raton salvage yards will give you some good places.

Yeah! I never had to think or deal with auto parts problem. I should have thought of checking out the salvage yards. :) Thanks!

Next tailgate you get (regardless of doing security mod), etch your name into an inconspicuous spot on the tailgate. If it gets stolen again, float around craigslist and see if it turns up. If it does, schedule a meet, find your etching, express disinterest in purchase (take down his plate number), and leave. Once you leave, call the police.

Let him explain to the police how he has your tailgate with your name etched into it. I only know this cause I had my tailgate stolen before and I did exactly that. I got my tailgate back and the dude was arrested (he was linked to a lot of other stolen tailgates).

All I know of her is she's a new member, lives in Florida, drives a Tacoma and is missing a tailgate.

    :notsure:

    She seems nice, though.

No clue. I tagged her in the other thread and linked said thread here, so if nothing else that's an option.

Still not sure the other dude is cool with the idea, as he hasn't replied either. I'm just tryin' to look out, people helping people and all that. ;)

I'll buy her a damn handle if he doesn't hook her up.

I typed Tacoma in the auto parts section of Craigslist and it's amazing how many tailgates are for sale in my area.
Some of them are probably stolen.

I don't know if she actually needs one, and his is missing the camera.

There's a guy selling a handle with camera but no wiring harness for the camera for $150 on TW right now, I don't have a clue if it's actually worth that much (I would think it's not, especially without a harness), but if she doesn't need/can get by without the camera for a bit and save $150 (assuming the handle above is accurately valued) then it was totally worth trying to get dibs on - in case she wants it.

Shipping wouldn't be more than $10 on it, so it's a good deal anyway you slice it.
