Why? The stock engine mounts are a two piece design with a rubber donut piece in between them to absorb vibration, and twisting from the torque. Over time the weight of the engine plus all of the added torque (and if you like to off road, that doesn't help either) fatigues the donut and for 4X4 Tacoma's it brings the engine closer to the front differential. If you like to off road this can be a problem, as the secondary cast aluminum oil pan is only inches above the front differential. That gap closes up when the donut becomes fatigued. I personally have heard of the engine mounts bending as well, but a very quick online search doesn't show me anything to document that. If you like to race your truck or just want to free up some lost power, polyurethane is very efficient for transferring power to the rear wheels. Much better than rubber is.

We have seen only one or two vendors fabricate and provide them via group buys, which disappeared for whatever reason. After a brief conversation with @JLee at BAMF, he has agreed that he is willing to fabricate, and offer all new polyurethane engine mounts for our 2nd gens (possibly a trans mount and their respective cross members also, still awaiting his okay on that). However, in order for this to actually come to fruition and offer them at a reasonable price, it will require at least 15-20 people to say, "Yes I want some and would be willing to purchase them from you." After the initial run proves successful, they can then become regularly production items to be bought at any time by him. As with anything, this does require some time to begin the physical production so this won't be quick, but you know anything made by BAMF is crafted very tough and sturdy and fits well on the first fit. Let's begin shall we?

What Shore rating is he planning on using? Also, will they be any cheaper than the solid ones already built?

Shore rating? Are you talking about the polyurethane stiffness durometer? If that is the case, I don't see why he couldn't offer it in different durometers.

That is what I am curious about as well. Let me ask him and see. Actually. I could tag him on here too.

Hey @JLee if we are able to generate enough interest to have you build these out, will these be any cheaper than the ones already out there? I think they were going for around $450 just for the engine mounts.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
At this point in time this is a request to make some motor mounts there is no design or price as I was just asked about making these this morning from @12TRDTacoma so I'm going to need a little more time then that. I'll have to do some designing and pricing materials before any pricing can be given as well as pick up some factory mounts. And I'm not doing any designing or ordering unless the interest is here.

To anyone posting in this thread this is only a feeler to see if it's worth it for us to design some and build them at a reasonable price that is all.

I'm interested. Only reason why I asked on the shore rating was because some mounts are so stiff that it's no better than a solid. Thanks!

I'm interested. Mostly to see how much these will cost though. I wheel and push my truck pretty damn close to it's current limits. Nothing like in the OP's sig though as she isn't meant for leaving earth. So at this point in time I don't even know if my mount's are tired. I know they will be someday as I plan on keeping the old girl for a while. So I guess you have a maybe here.
