It's probably has some to do but not all with the Duratracs. My Duratracs have terrible wet traction in the rain. So I can imagine how bad they would be on icy roads.

My Duratracs have less than 15K and have been great in the snow and have worked as well as anything other than Blizzaks on ice. We don't get a lot of rain but so far so good there too. I suspect that they will have to go at about 9/32" of tread depth. The tires in the OPs post should have been replaced before the first snowfall. No offense OP, but that was an accident just waiting to happen.

My duratracs are like driving on ice when it gets wet, never getting them again. OP tires were not in any shape to ice drive.

I'll speak on behalf of duratracs being an awesome tire. Great in mud, excellent in snow. As far as ice, Equal to any non-studded tired on the market.
Glad to hear you're ok, OP.
Keep your eyes peeled and if you've got a backup vehicle, don't rush your next Tacoma. Hold out for what you want.
