First Taco bought new 12 years ago. 114K miles now and currently undergoing major surgery to emerge as a hybrid off-roader in preparation for impending civil unrest. Being a Florida resident for the past 25 years will put me probably on the side of the secessionists. Glad to be here and hope to learn much from your all's exploits, expertise, and genius on the subject of this awesome little banshee of a truck. Was going to call her a "Hemi-Eater" (because she has done that on I-75). Oh and she runs as sweet today as she did when I first picked her up at the dealership.

From the land of lifted trucks. Seems every truck in Tampa is lifted. Most are the larger Chevy's and Fords. Think I'm in the minority having just lifted my 12-year old mini-Taco. Rides like a bronco bull the 4.56 rear pulls it like the wind. My second gear was great with the stock 3.58 but with the 4.56 it's a killer. Every vehicle in my rear view mirror shrinks in size after a few seconds. Hope to get to know you all one way or another. Oh just one comment on the tire size discussions I've picked up here: The 31's are just the right size/weight (combined weight tire and rim=62 lbs) for this truck and do not look small in fact they look outsized. Goal was not to overburden the 4 Cyl with excess rolling weight and keep as much of the original performance as possible. It's a light truck after all. However with the new gearing and the flow through exhaust, I've gained more than I've lost. This morning it's 37 degrees in Tampa. Chilling out for now......Mike
