Bigger light bulb. Not sure if LED.. alas..

Remember Cheech & Chong driving the van back from Mexico, and the body was made of weed?

You should manufacture a hood completely out of compressed marijuana. Then your scoop is your stash, and your stash is your scoop.

Just spit ballin' here, stay with me now..

I think the scoop looks good, but I find the seating position low in these trucks as it is and it's hard to see down the nose of the truck without the scoop; with the scoop it really impedes my vision ... and I'm 5'11" tall. I have a buddy with a lifted sport who is about 5'6" tall and it's terrifying driving around with him as he cranes his neck to see where he's driving! LOL

As for non-functional, yes it's non-functional, but so is a lot of body trim, fender flares, etc ... Has anyone ever modded the scoop to allow air in and cool the engine bay? That would be kool.

It wouldn't really do anything. Legit ram air has the air intake right there so it actually forces air into the intake and into the motor.

Modifying the scoop on Tacoma's would be completely useless.

i hated the scoop on my 06- part of the reason I skipped the Sport and went OR this summer. My commute always had me blinded by the sun going to work in the AM and coming home in the evenings. That scoop reflected perfectly into my eyes all the time and it was awful. I loved the look on the truck, but it wasn't worth it to me.

To each their own- BTW- my Sport had a chrome bumper and grill surround. Looked good to me.

I agree, who would trade their larger, and locking, rear axel out of an OR for one out of a Sport? You'd have to be a dam fool. I paid the same for my functional equipment as Sport model owners paid for looks. That's not knock on Sport owners its just a fact; buy what you want. I think 1K for a hood is stupid, just sayin.

Couldn't you just buy this "BULGE, HOO" and stick it on? Perhaps with scotch tape?

Don't deal with dealers. They're bs.

I love my truck. I hate the place where I got it from.

I love these trucks. You can get one from Australia, but it'll cost ya!

    Try this:

If you're a short ass like me (5'8"), this greatly improves your line of site with the low TRD Sport seats.

Simply go to the hardware store and get yourself:

2 of M10 x 1.25 x 50mm bolts (17mm heads) note: shoulder bolts would be preferred, but they didn't have any.
    2 of 1/2 x 5/8" x 1" steel spacers
    4 washers

I removed the rear seat bolts (14mm socket), lifted the seat by hand, placed washers on the floor over the bolt holes, then the steel spacers, lowered the seat onto the spacers, and inserted the bolts/washers.

That and the ImMrYo mirror relocation bracket really improves lines of sight as it raises your butt up. And no, you don't slide forward off the seat. The new seating position has more of a truck feel. My wife didn't want her side done, as she likes sitting back and enjoying the ride.

Replace the pop off plastic trim and one can barely tell that the seat has been raised.

... you are talking about his Great Wall of Canada, aren't you? Yup, we are certainly a dangerous bunch.... Sorry, eh!

How the fuck do they get their hands on a fleet of new Toyotas? Who is not paying attention here?

Well, left drive Land Cruiser Pickups, so they aren't coming from Australia. There must be a clandestine method of buying them in bulk, then shipping them through various entities to get them there. paper trail has to go somewhere.

Right back to Toyota Corporate. Shame on them.

... but maybe installing RC IUD's in them before sending them over would be the ticket. The kids operating the drones would literally have a blast.

I debadged it, had to work a whole bunch and put on a K&N in time to deploy. Now my wife controls the money and hopefully I have enough when I get back to get her washed. Soooo... mods are in progress?
I guess I'm a loser. I have a 15, not a 16. I knew I was going to be upgrading my legs and feet so the diff between the OR and sports was negligible, however I chose the OR purely because non-functioning hoods make me laugh. My other car is a forced induction 69 buick skylark though... so maybe I am just an ass.

Are you guys for real? How in the world does a dealership know what someones going to do with a car once they buy it? Nobody is directly or indirectly "supplying" ISIS with vehicles. If they send a legit person into a dealership to buy a vehicle, what's Toyota supposed to do? How could they know?

And why are people arbitrarily saying they are "new" vehicles? Who knows this information?????? They could be used trucks they stole, or acquired through private party?

The amount of tard rage on this subject is laughable.

Hood scoop blind, same for me. I waited 2yrs to find a guy on Craigslist who wanted to trade straight across. In addition, the scoop impeeds over hood vision making it an even harder challenge to pick the correct line offroad. that being said, it looks cool.
