Unfortunately no. He had a 40" bar though that appears to have something malfunctioning on the actual insides. Heretic is diagnosing it and fixing it this week I believe.

I always tell my buddies who rant and rave over cheap light bars. You get what you pay for and that includes customer service!

On the noise side of things, I have never heard a single peep from my rack or heretic.

Take the edge trim off and compare? Also, was yours loaded?

I'll try and get a video next time im driving the truck. Though our distracted driving laws now are $300 and 4 demerits!

Mine is completely unloaded right now. Well I guess the maxtrax are on my toprac but the cabrac is empty.

I had my wife video while I drove. The cops here are pretty strict about it too.

@zscott, do you think it may simply be the position of the extrusion cross bars? What I mean is, maybe some people have a cross bar closer to the deflector and the vortex is catching the slots just right to create a whistle. I'm wondering if @Overkill07 were to put his bars in the same increments as you with the same distances from the deflector if that would make any difference. Just my $.02 and curiosity.

It is quite possible that this is true. Seems like the further back the front most bar is the better.

Do you have a link, if not I'll find one.
    Dash cam maybe?
So should I remove my front bar and see if that changes anything? I think you have more bars on yours right now. I'm only running the 6 with the 7th being used for the deflector.

I come in peace with a question about the 4runner 4th gen rack (I used to have 2 Tacomas, I swear). Has anyone outfitted it to easily carry sheets of plywood? I saw someone had some vertical wings to hold stuff in place side to side, but didn't see it offered for sale. Does anyone know what the width between the side supports is?

Width of the Tacoma Racks and 4th/5th gen 4 runner racks is 47". I know, just shy of the 48" mark but the mounting holes and design made it so that 47" provided a better solution.

When I carry plywood on my rack I just lay the sheets on the rack so they are centered and then do some straps front to back and side to side going under the crossbars and it has worked well.

I moved my front bar back and it made a noticeable difference.

Any thoughts from the crowd on putting all of the bars back as far as possible when not actively hauling with it? My only concern is that it might make the front end a little loose and wiggly, without the support of a crossbar within the front half of the rack? Then can move the bars back to where they're useful when actually hauling and not DDing

What's the best solution on mounting hi-lift to the cabrac? Right now I am using the x mount from hi-lift and I do not like it.

When I did this, douche bags figured it had to be a rifle, and simply removed the two HD bars the Pelican was mounted to and made off with the whole thing, including my Rotopax mount. If you have a garage, no problem.

Nah mine is crack head proof. I've got security bolts for the HD bars and 12 bolts per pelican in 6 bars.

Obviously you don't know that crack heads can't afford that shit.

Plus I don't leave gear in there unless I'm headed to the great outdoors. And yes I deal with crack heads everyday too.

Can't you provide a link to said security bolts? I cannot find them locally.

Got my Rigid SR2 40" and mounted it to the first cross bar since I don't have the 40" cut out yet.. Did some rural mall crawling today and took this pic. That light is ridiculously bright.. Way better than my old double row cheaper light barimage.jpg
