I've been looking for aftermarker coil springs. What is the OE spring rate? Moog's are 465lbs.
    They are for a 97 4WD 3.4L auto trans.

There has never been a confirmed "Toyota spec" on this. The most accepted number has been around 470 lb/in. Keep in mind that Toyota made at least 12 different springs for all the 1st gen models. The TRD coils were the only ones with progressive rate.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know there were so many versions of the springs. Sounds like that the Moog spring are in the ballpark with the spring rate. I wonder if the TRD coils will work on my 5100s? Do you know what the TRD spring rate is?

All the 1st gen coils including the TRD are physically interchangeable. No idea what the rate expression for the TRD's is.
The TRD "progressive" coils were really more of a dual rate coil. They along with the "modified camber" TRD rear leafs were considered to be kind of a joke. The lower rate portion of the coils would sag dramatically in the first year or two. The rear leafs not far behind. I would stick with the standard linear rate. As an OEM replacement Moog should be fine.

Below is an extreme example of the TRD lower rate portion sagging (upper coils).

    Thanks for that info.

I did some reading a day read somewhere that progressive springs don't like to be preloaded as with the 5100 lift. . Which makes sense.
